This summer I enjoyed with my family a month long marvelous vacation in Europe.
When I came back I felt refreshed, ready to get back to work, and excited about the resources and programs to be sharing with my clients.
After my trip I was looking at some of the 6,000 photos I took during vacation and my attention caught pictures from our last week's stay in Paris - particularly the ones we took near and on the Eiffel Tower.
We actually climbed up the stairs to the second platform. It's roughly half way to the top of the tower and an equivalent of walking up to the 43rd story - so it was quite a workout!
Because of my fear of heights I thought I'd chicken out and not go to the third platform at the very top, but after spending some time at the "half way point" I decided to go for it. (No, I didn't walk to the top - I took an elevator!)
I'm glad I did it, because something I saw there reminded me about the importance of mentoring and masterminding with smart people.
You see, at the top of the Tower is a tiny room. It was Gustave Eiffel's office and he often used it to host meetings with some of the brightest minds of his time like Thomas Edison.
Think about it... Eiffel's Tower would be something to marvel at even if it were built with the use of today's technology. And it was actually completed in the 19th century!
Point is, Eiffel was a smart man. And he understood that one of ways for him to get even smarter, and think even bigger, was to hang out with other smart people!
I largely attribute my own business success to the fact that I continue to mastermind with savvy entrepreneurs. And in addition to my own growth I see the success my Platinum Mastermind Members achieve.
If you aren't surrounding yourself with other savvy professionals and successful business owners you aren't growing your business as fast as you could - and that's a fact! Large companies have boards of directors to guide them, and so should you!
This weekend, and next week, take a little time to identify a few successful people you already know and start hosting regular in person (or over the phone) meetings with them. You'll be amazed with how much new power and momentum such group will infuse into business!
