This question is one of the hardest ones to sincerely answer. There are many different types of online businesses to get involved in. The BEST online business is the one that you can do comfortably, well and profitably. We can take a look at a couple of these and you can decide for yourself which is best.

Most commonly, there is the affiliate online business. This is very simple and easy to do. You search out sites that sell something that interests you and become an affiliate there. As an affiliate, you will be given access to advertising materials to aid you in promoting the product or service to your customers.

You will probably need a central location for the information to be posted, so a website is a great idea. To start with, a single page site will do. On that page you will place your links to the affiliate products you are involved with and invite the visitor to click through for more information. If they buy that item, you get a commission.

The benefit of this type of business is that you do not have to handle product, worry about shipping or even handle money. You just point the customer to the product site and let nature take it's course. All the back office stuff is handled by the product owner.

Next most common is probably more profitable, yet requires a bit more involvement on your part. I am talking about an online business that sells a product or service that YOU have personally developed. This product can be a report, a white paper or a tangible physical product.

Reports and papers can be sent electronically in entirety, so there is no shipping to worry about. Plus you can deliver the product immediately AND get paid immediately. Tangible products like books, games, etc... will require shipping charges and a little work on your part, but is still worth the effort.

What you need to do for this online business is develop a unique item and promote it. Place it on your site and start taking orders. The page that offers it should be a tight, professional sales letter. Tell the benefits of the product and why they want to own it. Basically, make it sound like it is something the customer cannot live without.

If you have a lot of stuff in the house or have the time to work with a wholesale drop shipper, EBay is a great online business to work with. Personally, I always figure the shipping into the sell price and offer the item with "FREE FREIGHT" as a selling point. Works like a charm!!

A wholesale drop shipper gives you access literally thousands of items at wholesale prices. You sell to your EBay customers at MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price) and keep the difference. This is easy and as profitable an online business as you will find anywhere.

Whatever online business you decide on, realize that it will require some effort on your part. There really is no completely "set it and forget it" business out there. You get back what you put in and what you put in can be as easy as pie!
