Is there really any difference to the way that Spanish is spoken in Mexico in comparison to the mainland of Spain? Did you know that the Spanish Language is Spoken in around 21 Countries world wide? Before you make a choice to which Spanish language course, discover secrets today to avoid the mistakes that many people make when choosing a Spanish language course.

Numerous people often get bewildered when making a reference to the Spanish language. It is a fact that the language is spoken in five different continents world wide for example; Europe, Carribean, North America, Central America, and parts of Africa, in fact next to the English, arguably it is the second most spoken language world wide.

If you are a novice and just starting out as a Spanish student, then it really depends where you are located in the world to which Spanish course you to need study, for example; if you live in Mexico or planning to move there, then you need to learn Mexican Spanish which is quite different to the Spanish spoken in Spain.

Some considerable time ago being a well travelled person I was lucky enough to experience a months trip to Spain, I speak a little Spanish not fluent by any means but, enough to get by.

I started in the north and journeyed around the coast of Spain heading south, the first place I stopped off was around the Pyrenees area, this is where I discovered the different interpretations of the Spanish language.

It really was quite amusing for them when I attempted to communicate with them, and the reason is in the north of Spain they speak a mixture of Spanish, and French, which is described as Catalan.

Previous to this trip I felt pretty confident with regard to my use of the language, however, this was reduced quite considerably very quickly, and soon realised they did not understand a certain words and phrases. The puzzled looks on their faces really made me smile and they also after a while saw the funny side, that's the great thing about learning Spanish in Spain they are very helpful when they see you making a attempt, plus in general a warm and friendly nation.

However, it was a great lesson to learn, that in order to learn any language you have to sometimes step out of your comfort zone and be prepared to jump in at the deep end.

On my trip I made an effort to stop off at many small villages on my journey, and each little place I stayed there were many different interpretations of the Spanish phrases.

A reasonable example of different ways to use languages would be, to compare the English language spoken in Cornwall in the UK to Scotland, and most people would agree there is a vast difference; in fact there are parts of Scotland, which are quite extreme, and can be difficult to understand even if you are fluent in English.

The point I am trying to make is, that if you are studying to speak Spanish to choose the right course for your location you intend to use it is essential. So if you are going to Mexico then make sure to find a course that covers Mexican Spanish.

Further more if you are looking to accelerate your progress a hot tip is to befriend Puerto Ricans, or Colombians, Ecuadorians, if possible they have a full understanding of Mexican Spanish.

Experts in the world of language learning are very clear that it is important to learn to speak Spanish in a conversational way, for example; the every day conversations we use when we go shopping, what ever you say in English, try to think how you would say that in Spanish this is very effective way of learning.

I hope this article has opened your eyes to the different interpretations of the Spanish language and helped you to choose the right course for your needs.
