Golf is an extremely challenging game. I have always found it challenging no matter what level I was at, whether it was when I was 17 playing in my first few club competitions and learning the game or my county playing days or indeed when I was playing on professional circuits, the game of golf was and still is a challenging game.

Apart from the obvious difficulties in swing biomechanics, rhythm, putting and green reading skills golf is a mentally and physically demanding sport due to the need for extended time duration of golf rounds, playing often in energy draining warm conditions causing fatigue and finally the over repetitious nature of the dynamic golf swing elevating risks of injuries. There are certain things we can do both on and off the course to meet these challenges.

On the course we can use mental techniques, correct hydration and nutrition and always preparing thoroughly for a round using a dynamic golf warm up. (click here for 7 minutes to power and performance) Off the course we follow an Athletic golf conditioning program that develops a well oiled machine to can stand up to this challenge consistently.

Playing 18 holes of golf, whether walking or riding in a cart, can drain you of energy. Repetitive movements than are the golf swing also drain energy and will affect the energy needed for good scores on every hole in the round. Many golfers find themselves tired and dogged after shooting 18 holes let alone the occasional 36 hole competition!

Just think about it, you may shoot a 75, but add on another 2-3 practice swings at least prior to every shot, pre round swings minus the putts we are looking at well over 250-300 swings realistically.

That is energy draining for sure. Developing stamina from a golf conditioning program and investing time into training will I assure you give you a competitive edge. When opponents are faltering due to sloppy swings your improved stamina will prevail.

Fatigue during a round of golf, not unlike everyday life leads to sloppiness and mistakes in regular tasks let alone the complicated requirements of the golf swing and the mind strength needed for decisions and concentration to play every shot to your up most potential. Those final 2-3 holes of a round where you may well be on for the course record, the club championship or just breaking 80 for the first time are the most challenging.

We need our bodies and minds to be alert, full of energy and not be suffering through fatigue due to lack of investment into a golf conditioning program, following such specific program will prepare your body for the toughest of challenges to make it seem like a "walk in the park".

Having a well conditioned body, prepared for golf reduces Injury risk, due to increased flexibility, agility and specific golf strength and a balanced physique to build up weak muscles that may be within your kinetic chain during the golf swing. The good news is that golf conditioning and Athletic Golf Training not only trains specific muscle groups to help you master your swing, it also gets your entire body in shape so you can play 18 holes effortlessly - and even tackle otherwise gruelling 36-hole days with ease.

When your entire body is in shape, you're stronger and more flexible. You have more stamina. You can repeat motions without strain. You save your calves, knees, feet, back, neck, arms, wrists, and shoulders from strain that causes you to lose your technique and result in even more injuries. Not only does an excellent golf fitness program improve your golf game, it improves your life. You'll feel better, look better, and enjoy the many wonderful life-long benefits of being in shape.

Do not let poor stamina, fatigue and injuries be the reason you don't lower your handicap or get the pro card you want.

Perform a regular golf conditioning program and see the results on your scorecard and physique follow.
