Scrapbooking is a great way to preserve memories and display beloved moments. Most scrapbookers have a variety of supplies that they need in order to create beautiful displays in scrapbooks. Typical supplies include paper, ribbons, borders, photo display supplies, stickers and more. All of these supplies can get disorganized quickly, so it's important to have a scrapbook storage solution if you love to scrapbook and need a way to keep your supplies organized. Look over these scrapbook storage solution ideas to find a way to organize your scrapbook supplies.
Filing Cabinets
Filing cabinets make great scrapbook storage supply organizers because they are already sectioned off into easy to manage sections. Use the hanging files to store anything from paper to stickers. You can even store pictures for use in future scrapbooks in the hanging folders. To stay extra organized, label each hanging folder with a tag of what is in the folder. When you need a supply, simple glance over the tags on the folders until you find what you need.
A Supply Scrapbook
That's right, use a scrapbook to organize your scrapbook supplies. Get a scrapbook cover and fill it with page protector sleeves. Slide borders, photos, ribbon, paper, stickers and other flat supplies into the sleeves. This not only keeps your supplies flat and organized, it also stores well and is a great way to use an old scrapbook cover that isn't being used. Use tabs on the edges of the pages to label what is in the protector sleeve for even more organization.
Jewelry Organizer Box
Repurpose a jewelry organizer box to hold your ribbon for scrapbooking. Jewelry boxes have sectioned off areas for things like beads, but you can easy stack your small spools of ribbon in these boxes for easy storage. Get something like the Plano Prolatch with Adjustable Dividers that has deep compartments that are also adjustable for added convenience. Line up your ribbon spools in the compartments so that all of your ribbon will be in one, easy to find spot.
Storage Cart With Drawers
A storage cart is a crafter's best friend. Many plastic carts are portable, lightweight and affordable. Look for a cart with at least 6 drawers so that you can optimized the space. You'll be able to have a drawer for each main type of supply including paper, stickers, photos, borders and ribbon and cutting and stamping supplies. Label each draw with its contents to make finding supplies easy. A great storage cart to try is the Multicolor Ten Drawer Storage Cart. This cart has plenty of drawers and doesn't take up much room, making it convenient and extremely useful.
Bins and Jars
If your storage area for scrapbooking materials is in an area that is frequently trafficked in your home, you might want to consider having your supplies blend in with the rest of the room. Use decorative jars to hold ribbon, buttons and other small accessories. Get boxes that match your décor to house paper and sticker sheets. You can be creative with your storage and make it blend in so that nobody but you knows that the décor is actually holding your crafting supplies.
