Well that was it, I couldn't take any more. I had just read a lot of words about the state of being a newbie in everything except internet marketing and nothing of which said anything pertinent to real life in our industry, which is e-commerce of which internet marketing is a large part. I am a proud New-bie..

I heard a loud "cry" of despair (post) and hopelessness which I reacted to as a call for help. This is a much too confusing frame of mind to be in starting any business venture. I've acknowledged that there's has been successes in the industry, I've mentioned them before, but I think the bulk of those successes happened despite the tough mental barriers at the newbie stage.

To all new-bies I say, hold on, genuine help is on the way. Help is here. New-bie Nation is joining the fight. New-bie Nation will help you fight back.

What I got out of the definitions listed was that as a newbie I was a beginner in anything from a gambler, to a gamer, to a boob , to a player, to a so on and to a so forth. You get the picture.I don't care for the way we have been defined. It's just not the way it really is and I am not by myself in these type thoughts.

The industry itself should define itself. Who would know better? Who would have the vested interest enough to give more than a fleeting thought to a meaning that will live on and make a whole industry proud?

The definition of a thing causes a thought to grow in one's mind. Whether it's negative or positive, the definition of that thing causes a reaction towards that thing. If the newbie in internet marketing is defined in a more precise and professional manner we would be looked at differently and the reaction by the newbie would be more precise and professional. Action and reaction. It would be inspirational to a whole industry. And more profitable for everyone.

Answers. Com defines Newbie as "One that is new to something, especially a novice at using computer technology or the internet." "Close but no cigar." As far as I'm concerned, the definition doesn't even come close to laying out what a newbie in e-commerce (internet marketing) is or does. The meaning should be much more clear and to the point of who we are.

Right here, right now, let's go forth and define ourselves. Clear and unambiguous for all the world to know who we are and most important, for us to know ourselves. My personal opinion is that we call ourselves what we've always been called (no need to change the word radically) the same word but emphasized on both parts of the word. New + bie, the new one. The new ones in the field of internet marketing. If you can do better, come on with it.

Now since we're on the way of defining ourselves, let's get on with our journey. Wait a moment, where are we going? Are we on the path of internet marketing or e-commerce? Do you know what internet marketing is? Do you know what internet marketing looks like? If it was staring you in the face, would you recognize it? All the aforementioned points have answers. The list goes on and on.
