Statistics show that a single individual can have as many as 60,000 thoughts, in any given day. Out of these most of them are old ones that keep recurring in the mind and are therefore not necessary.

Ask yourself the following two questions honestly and read the comments from a meditative point of view:

1. Why does a person continue to have thoughts about the same issue every day?

Humans, by nature, take on more than they can handle and try to complete whatever they plan to do in one day. Since this is not possible, they carry it over to the next day. They are not able to complete the list that they have made in one single day.
You should learn to end your day, with a closure, to see radical changes. Take each new day as it comes. When you learn to accept that you are surrounded with limitations, you will be able to train your mind. You will learn to stop taking on unnecessary challenges once you realize that you are capable of doing so much for a day and this will lead to less problems, all around.

Try meditation at the end of the day for a few minutes and sit still with your eyes cold. Make out a plan for the next day and do not include more than 6 important things to do. Start each day with meditation before you start your routine. This few minutes of meditation will increase your energy levels so that you are able to handle the day effectively. You will be fully aware of the present moment and utilize the hours of the day consciously.

2. Is it possible to erase those recurring thoughts from your subconscious mind?

A majority of people would agree that it is impossible to erase thoughts that flit through the mind continuously and would not want to try meditation as they feel it takes away a lot of your time. If you are one of these, then you are just barking up the wrong tree and I would tell you that you are going to continue as before. It is vital for you to know that you can get trapped in your recurring thoughts with your ego in control.
When you practice meditation, you become aware of each conscious moment and learn to connect with your higher self. By practicing medication daily, you will be able to attain peace and disregard matters that are not important in life.
