Celebrities are envied, worshipped and most of al mimicked. We all want to dress like they do, look like them and live like they do. We watch their every move in the tabloids, on television and in magazines. We want to see the insides of their homes. We want to know how they live, what their taste in furniture is like and how they decorate their personal space.
We wonder if their homes really reflect their public persona's are if they are just like us. Magazines like Elle often give us a fleeting glimpse into the very heart of celebrities we admire. Every so often they are allowed inside to photograph and to share with us what we are dying to know. Below are a few descriptions of some of the living rooms of the rich and famous.
1. The home of Ben Stiller and his wife Christine is more masculine than one would expect. The color scheme is monochromatic and features a button tufted sofa in velvet. The room has style and elegance.
2. Cindy Crawford does living room designs for Rooms-to-Go and her style is evident in her choice of living room for her home. The color palette of the room is southwestern with its earth tones. It gives off a down home on the ranch type of feeling. The wood ceilings and moldings make the space feel warm and inviting.
3. Sarah Jessica Parker has a stunning living room inside of her Bridgehampton, New York home. The furnishings are cozy against a backdrop of stark white walls. 4. True to her fame Donatella Versace's living room at her home in Milan is all high fashion. There is nothing minimalist about it. The opulence is apparent in the pair of imposing urns made in the empire style on either side of a painting that looks like it was crafted by a student of Panini. The sofas are all from the Home collection by Versace.
5. We go from grand opulence to modern comfort in the West Village loft of actress Julianne Moore. She uses a neutral palette that exudes serenity. The living space in this loft is a no frills collection of vintage sofas, decorative tables, and leather armchairs that are inviting. The table lamps are made of driftwood to give the room a real rustic touch, while the views of the Hudson River in this light filled room are simply amazing.
