Summer is like no other season, spring has left you giddy and the summer sunshine beckons you to be outside. The smells, colors and weather of summer are delightfully different from all of the other seasons. Wanting to brighten up your décor to match this wonderful new mood is only natural.

It doesn't really take a whole lot of time or money to get the fresh look of summer. Here are five tips from expert decorators to get your summer decorating off to a good start.

1. Flowers - Fresh cut flowers can brighten any room. Birds of Paradise and wild flowers are two of the summer flowers with gorgeous blooms. Who doesn't love the look of daisies; a vase in the kitchen brings summertime indoors. Glass vases stuffed with Gardenia's by the front door will provide a burst of fragrance each time you walk through the door.

2. Get rid of that fancy tablecloth and go for a brightly colored runner in one of the cooler pastels. Top it off with a matching centerpiece of fresh summer flowers. Or you can use decorative candle lanterns to take the theme in a new direction.

3. Strip rooms down to the bare essentials. Less is best in the summer. Let's face it you are not going to want to be dusting all that anyway, when it is perfect beach weather.

4. Blinds are less formal and combined with sheer and breezy curtains it is a match made in summer heaven. The room will feel and look differently immediately. If you have a room that gets a lot of the morning sunshine, try the new UV blinds, they will help to retain the color in your carpet and furnishings. It will save the furniture and carpet from being bleached out by the summer rays.

5. Glass vases (or other glass decorative products) give the room an entirely new look. The sunlight catching material will add sparkle and shine to any room. Take the time to thoroughly clean walls and polish surfaces. This will brighten the room considerably.

6. Investing in a few white slipcovers, for living room furnishings can make over a room very inexpensively. Make sure they are machine washable and you are on a roll. Add a dash of spring green and yellow throws or pillows to complete the look.

You can make your home look entirely new without spending a lot of money or hiring a construction crew. Clean walls, bright colors and beautiful flowers in glass vases will make a world of difference. Find more tips like these online today.
