One of the main symptoms of sinusitis is when the small openings from the nose to the sinus cavities are blocked and inflammation occurs.

Usually there is headache at the middle of the forehead. There is pain and facial tenderness around the eyes, cheeks or forehead where the four hallow spaces in the bones of the face are; watery eyes, severe sneezing, sore throat, sinus congestion and nasal congestion, very itchy nose, nasal drips, sinus discharge at the back of the throat and a generally weak feeling are signs of an acute sinusitis.

Sinusitis may develop after an allergy reaction. The allergy reaction causes inflammation and difficulties in breathing and produces excess mucous that block nasal passages.

Airborne particles aggravate sinus allergies. Pollutants or tiny particles like pollen from flowers when inhaled are trapped in the mucous of the sinuses to prevent from entering the lungs. Too much accumulation of these particles prevents the mucous to drain normally. When this happens, it harbors the growth of bacteria and viruses that cause infections.

It is very important to know that sinus allergies occur mostly during seasons when the air in the atmosphere dries out. A person prone to this illness needs to take the necessary precautions and avoid the difficulties from it. When air is dry, it lacks the moisture that catches or traps the airborne particles, so they float in the air.

Dryness in the air is in its peak during winter months. Using heaters to warm the indoors of the households makes the air even drier. Without proper humidity; is the time when sinus allergies and other respiratory problems come in.

There are several ways to deal with lack of moisture in the air. Water fountains help you create moisture filled air and thereby helps you create hydrated indoors. Mist fountains are one of the best ways to create moisture rich air. A mist fountain is a perfect solution to end all the miseries of sinus allergies caused by dry air.

A misting fountain creates mist or cloud- like fog that floats in the air. The tiny molecules of water form as mist and evaporate to add humidity and trap allergens form the air. At the same time, during this process, negative ions separate from the water and disperse into the atmosphere. This is when the air is made healthier to breathe.

Negative ions reduce airborne dust by 52% and aerial bacteria by 95% (the finding is based on a finding by the US Department of Agriculture). Only large bodies of water in motion like oceans and massive waterfalls provide negative ions. No wonder why getting to a beach makes you feel revitalized and a forest picnic near a waterfall is a very refreshing experience.

A mist fountain uses tap water to produce enticing cool mist and does not need any chemical or ice or heat. You may add aromatherapy oil or essential oils to enhance its relaxation and calming effect.

To prevent air pollution the water in the reservoir must be kept clean, regular cleaning is necessary to prevent bacteria build- up that might overturn the purpose of the mist fountain. When not in use, clean it thoroughly for storage.

A mist fountain provides all that fresh air and moisture. The new misting fountains models come with remote controllers, scratch proof replacement disks, replacement misters, splash guard holders, AC adapters, replacement mist fountain bowls, LED mist maker, including the legs and stand.
