Online Dating Dilemmas For Chinese Singles: Choose A Chinese Single Or Do Interracial Dating?

So what will it be? Go out with someone who has the same culture as you? Or date someone whose culture is different from yours? Stay with the familiar or explore the unknown? That might be the question in the minds of many singles as they embark on dating: Chinese dating or interracial dating?

Dating Choice #1: Find a Chinese man or woman to date online, find the same race to date.

Let's take a look first at same race dating- Chinese dating. As a single who has grown up in a Chinese setting and well adjusted to the Chinese culture, then it would be good if one can find someone who has grown up in the same environment and who knows the same cultures as you have. Commonality would surely make dating smoother and easier. Sharing the same tradition, the same kind of taste in food, the similar cultural and ethical upbringing would help dramatically decrease conflict points that may arise if you go with a non-Chinese partner. Aside from the commonality between the two of you, it would also be more familiar for both party's families.

Also, one of the biggest advantages to going online dating for Chinese singles is you can easily find your Chinese match since they share the same language. For the non-Chinese speakers wanting a Chinese date, the many levels of language barriers in Chinese families would surely be quite a hurdle. The thing is that many parents of Chinese singles speak little, if not, no English at all. Since Chinese singles put much in store for their families, having someone who speaks the language of the elders would be highly beneficial and preferred.

Dating Choice #2: However, of course, INTERRACIAL DATING would not allow itself to be sidelined.

Although of course, Chinese parents would prefer a Chinese partner, one cannot discount the fact that interracial dating, with someone who has another culture and background is a huge possibility also.

Of course, respect and honor for another culture, in this case the Chinese culture, could be and should be learned if one seriously wants to date a Chinese single. However, the same can be said for the other person's culture and heritage too. But of course, there are some things, like some food and tradition that might need some easing into. Like, it would take the other person a bit of time to get used to seeing chicken feet during Sunday morning dim sum. Or else, it might take them some time before they get over the argument over who will pay the bill for dinner.

Everything would work out with love, mutual respect, understanding, and patience. Any amount of obstacles and trials can be overcome by love and patience and time. While it is true that there will be many Chinese parents who would show hesitance with the unfamiliar, but if both of you would stand firm and show your love to each other, then with an open heart and mind, what may seem different, can be embraced and accepted.
