Valentines. By the time February rolls around, most ladies and of course, a number of men would look forward to one specific day of the month. The 14th. Valentines Day.

I still remember during my elementary and high school years when this day used to be one of the most anticipated by my girl classmates. And of course, being a young romantic myself, by me too.

There's always something to look forward to on Valentines Day. There are chocolates, roses, and cards from admirers; usually crammed inside the locker or delivered by embarrassed friends, but hey, it's the thought that counts. When we got older, there were romantic candle-lit dates to look forward to with that special Valentines date. In fact, some countries even go so far as to schedule the much anticipated Prom Night on February 14, just so it would coincide with Valentines Day.

Well, those were the good, ol' days. Now that we are a bit older and more experienced, Valentines Day sometimes spells foreboding. Especially for those in single-dom and are hating it. Being single is somehow extra conspicuous and attention-getting on this day. Well, they don't call it the Day of Hearts or the Day of Lovers for nothing. Even those serving in the military, our own military singles, should not lose hope on this day! There are people who are looking for their military dating matches, you know!
