If you are like any modern woman today, your desire to look for your man may take you to the Internet, hence online dating. With this kind of dating, you won't have to worry about meeting your man, because there's literally thousands and thousands of singles online who are just waiting for a date. While this is on one hand, advantageous, there's also a disadvantage in that it you'd have to kiss a couple (or ten) frogs to find your true prince.
To help you get on your way, and hopefully not run directly into a "frog," here's the FIRST do and don't that you should learn in online dating:
The First Do: Do post a recent picture. And no, that picture of yours totally looking fit and young in your high school year book is NOT recent. This is so that he knows entirely what to expect when you finally meet up in person; because that's the ultimate goal of any online dating relationship - to hook up with someone you are compatible with off-line. So browse through those online albums or digitalized pictures of yours and find your best one! Ask a girl friend's opinion on this if you want to.
The First Don't: Don't lie in your description. Let my close guy friend's experience teach us all a lesson: he was totally bragging a hot date that he met online. We read her profile: she was blonde, beautiful, and could pass as one of those bikini-clad cover girls in men's magazines. Her words. And her picture too was "whoa" inspiring. So expecting someone like Scarlett Johansson come to life, he went on his date. Only to be shocked to meet an "obese woman in a tent-like moo-moo," his description. So I guess everyone can pretty much predict what happened next. He gulped down three glasses of vodka and fled. Fast. What's the moral lesson behind this? Other than "do not brag to your friends about your online dates," it's that you should be totally honest in your online dating profile.
Generally, men online, don't expect Scarlett Johansson, or Paris Hilton, or Marion Cottilliard to go on a date with them. They don't expect their clones either. If you would just be totally honest and do away with pretensions, then for sure, there would be a man out there who's going to love and accept you for who you are.
Take my girl friends for example. They neither look nor weigh as those celebrities that I mentioned, but they were able to find their perfect matches online. How? By totally being honest and being themselves.
Never pretend to be someone you are not online. What they see should be what they get. Because lies won't take anyone anywhere. At one point, you'd have to meet your Millionaire Singles in real life.
