Dating is tough and no one ever said that finding the right one is easy. Your love life didn't come with a manual or a rule book for you to reach that happy ending and find prince charming, however, there are some dating rules that are important that you need to follow.
1. Follow Your Instincts
Whatever mode of dating you are in; online or offline be sure to listen to your guts. If you feel uneasy around your date or that he sparks the red sparks of alarm in you then be more wary, pay more attention and deal with it accordingly. If you have met a potential match online and decide to talk on your phone but it seems he has a different air around him, then you may decide not to meet up with them. On the other hand, your date may be fidgety and nervous on your first meet; well, that doesn't sound off your internal alarm, then you can give him a second chance.
2. Identify Red Flags
Like your gut feel and instincts, your internal alarms will also alert you on red flags- or incoming trouble. Sometimes we tend to ignore the red flags and put our guard down, by doing so we get involved with inappropriate partners. So pay attention on these red flags on your first date. For instance, you have a date who talks non-stop about their ex, sure he's a great person but he's still not ready for a relationship. You've had your share of drama so pay attention to the little red flags when finding your match.
3. Pay attention to their actions
He may seem like the perfect match, he is attentive and a gentleman to you- until treats the waitress or the valet poorly. They may have smooth talked to you that they are really want a stable and long term relationship but their eyes keep wandering off to any woman in the room. Take note of the red flags and the gut feel about this type of guy, see if his action coincide with his words.
4. Avoid Dating Games
You have been in and out of a relationship, you should know that what goes around comes around. You must know the importance of honesty, commitment and good intentions when in a relationship or finding a good match. Be honest with your comments and opinions. Call when you say you will, be honest when they ask you what your doing or if you'd want to date them again. Be kind, considerate and genuine, expect the same in return.
5. Say "Game Over" and Mean It
To avoid getting played, then avoid playing around in dating. There are plenty of players in the dating scene, that's the reality. You should try and spot the players and be confident enough to say "game over" to these players. Oftentimes these players will try to take you off guard with a backhand compliment or insult. Most likely they'd say something similar to this: "I'd love to buy you a drink I know you'll just refuse", it's a strategy. These players aren't genuine, they want you to let your guard down, instead of getting played at simply turn them down and say "game over" and walk away- or better yet, run. You are better off without these players.
While there are no ultimate dating rules for your love life, there are some guidelines that are laid out for you to have a better dating experience. By paying attention and following these simple guides; you avoid wasting time in dating, avoid getting played and you'll have a more enjoyable dating experience
