In my search to help women find the most effective way to meet and approach men online, I found this really nifty empirical analysis on online dating. And boy, was is enlightening. For all of you women out there, here are some tips that may help you get past the doubts of being the first one to initiate contact or of even joining in an online dating service.

Now what we need to clear out is that there were about 10,000 people who were asked to compete a survey for a consolidated result for this article. So, read on and find out what online daters think and how you can use some of these facts to your advantage when you are searching for your Sugar Daddie.

What Do Online Daters Want?

According to the research, most of the online daters prefer those that are looking for a long-term commitment, rather those that are just "looking around/ curious." 75% of active members in fact, are more interested in a long-term partner. Now, what do you do with this fact? Well, first, in making your profile, they ask you what you are looking for. You can put in that you are looking for someone that you can get into a relationship with. But, there are still 17% of men that prefer those women who are interested at casual relationships only. But whatever your preference, be honest with it, so that the other members who are looking at your profile would know what to expect.

Who is Likely to Respond to Emails?

Now, this is surprising. The research showed that men are more likely to respond to first contact emails, compared to women. An average woman has a whopping 70% chance of getting a reply from an email sent to an average guy. Good news, right, girls?

What are Their Reasons for Sending the Initial Email?

Unsurprisingly, 31% of women and 19% of men say that looks were the leading factor in whether they send an email or not. So ladies, I really do advice that you start looking for a picture that shows you at your best, which you may use for your profile photo. Besides, a profile which includes a photo would really get more responses than one that doesn't.

However, when income and education are combined with other factors, they also form a formidable factor. So do not get too distressed or cynical. Nowadays, men don't think that dating should be all about physical appearances.

Alright, if some of these may be too much for you, do not be disheartened. While looks and other factors may come across as to get more responses from online daters, what you do need to remember is that this research did not take into account some personality traits that I think are also very important in the success of online dating, like friendliness, approachability, and humor.

So embrace yourself and love who and what you are, and the other people online will embrace and love you too. Be positive in your search for Mr. Right! You may need to go through a few frogs, but no doubt, you'll find your Prince Charming in the end.
