If you're a bit older and dating for the mature partner, you may be wondering where to go for your first date? Well, dating for over 50's doesn't have to be a boring tea dance and a cup of tea. There are plenty of places that you can visit, and plenty of enjoyable and fun things to do to pass away the time.
Dating for older people can be a nervous experience, especially if you are out of practice and haven't dated for a long time. People can get rusty with the dating game. But it doesn't have to be like that, you can inject some fun and happiness into the date, whilst getting involved with something that can take your mind off of your nerves. If you have been on your own for a while, you may have forgotten the art of flirting and social interaction when dating, for the mature this can be very daunting, especially when they're not sure how to behave on a date or what to do.
1) Go bowling
Bowling is fun and active. You can concentrate on the bowling and the bowing ball which can take away your nerves, as you are not 100% focusing on your date. This sounds a bit strange, but if you are a really nervous type, this will help you get used to dating. For older people especially this can be a great way to break the ice with someone and get to know someone for the first time.
2) Go somewhere special
Dating for over 50s can be a grand affair too. If you both like something, then why not go somewhere a bit more exclusive. For instance if you both belong to the National Trust, you could visit a stately home or historic place that you can both travel to together, and then have a look round and have something to eat in one of their pleasant restaurants. You will both share a common interest and can talk about this interest which will ease you both into the date.
3) Visit a museum or gallery
If you both enjoy a bit of culture, you can do something cultural such as visit a gallery and view works of art, perhaps finding an artist you both like. You could choose a museum that you both haven't been to, which would be a new experience for both of you. Round it off with some lunch or an early dinner to get to know each other and talk about what you have seen.
4) Stroll through gardens in summer
Something to do in the summertime is to visit a garden and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather and it's a touch romantic too. Gardens that are open to the public are wonderful to stroll through and appreciate the many varieties of plants. Gardens will have tea rooms and cafes so you can both relax and talk, and there will be many areas along the way that you can sit. Often gardens will have calm lakes and rivers to sit by. You could even take a picnic.
So dating for older people doesn't have to be a ordinary and staid event You can come up with a whole host of other ideas for dates that you can look forward to and enjoy.
