Suffolk is rich in rural landscape with vales at Dedham Vale which is an Area of Outstanding Beauty. This beautiful landscape was painted by the great artists Constable and Gainsborough and little has changed today. Surprisingly, most of this county is made up of wetlands and arable farmland. The main economy is farming with many farms in this area.
Suffolk also boasts a great ancient history heritage with the Anglo Saxon ship burial at Sutton Hoo that was discovered undisturbed. There have also been a variety of ancient settlements discovered in Suffolk. There are also many ancient woodlands that are rich in wildlife, and there is a large bird nature reserve. There is the Thetford Forest with a range of walks to suit everyone. Also The Brecks in Suffolk has acres of pine forest and heathland where people cycle and horse ride.
Buying a new home in Suffolk would mean that you would have access to the natural beauty and landscape of this region, and if you have a love for the outdoor lifestyle, this area would be ideal. There are many areas to walk, hike, horse ride and cycle in. The Suffolk coast is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is mostly salt marsh. Coastal towns include Dunwich and Sizewell and there are three nature reserves along the coast. If you are considering moving and buying a new house in Suffolk, it is important to remember that commuting into London isn't as easy as it is from some other counties, as the railway links are not fast nor extensive, so if you are making regular trips to London or Greater London, then Suffolk would not be a good location to commute from. There are many new houses in Suffolk to choose from, in a variety of locations including main towns such as Ipswich, Newmarket, and Bury St Edmunds, or slightly further out of the major towns, for instance in market towns such as Halesworth.
So if you are considering this beautiful area as a place to live, you will be very spoilt for choice.
