This of all the 11 Forgotten Laws might be difficult to master for a lot of people. Especially here in the United States where we are a bit on the feisty side. We have always been taught to fight for our rights, fight for injustice, fight disease, fight the enemy, fight 'til the death...fight, fight, fight.
Well, it's time to put down our weapons, figuratively and literally.
Bob Proctor and Mary Morrissey have created a home study course on the Law of Attraction called The 11 Forgotten Laws. This law, The Law of Non-Resistance is one of those laws.
According to Proctor, The Law of Non-Resistance, "does not require us to work over or against the things we do NOT want, but is does require us to work with and for what we DO want." So instead of resisting or fighting what we don't want, we must use our energy and our thoughts working towards what we do want in our lives. If we hit a stumbling block or run into a brick wall, instead of trying to break through the wall, why not just go around? Just go on by. Focus on the main goal and the blocks begin to fall away.
The more energy we put into what we are fighting against, the bigger it gets. Stop fighting and the problem quickly loses steam.
Picture someone in your face, yelling at you. How cool would it be to just calmly walk away? You don't have to get mad or worked up, you just leave. The situation is diffused because the yeller has no one to yell at. But the best part is that instead of being angry and upset or overwrought, you can walk away fairly calm and maybe even a bit pleased with yourself.
If we are constantly resisting, arguing and fighting we are putting all of our energy toward the things that make us unhappy and we are losing sight of the things we enjoy. Focus on the things you enjoy. Put your energy there. Feel the good feelings and The Law of Attraction will bring you more of them.
Jesus said, "The meek shall inherit the earth." Up until today, I never understood that. I've heard people try to explain it, but I kind of got the feeling that they didn't really get it either. Well, when you consider meekness along with the Law of Non-Resistance it starts to make sense. I have always related being meek with being weak. Most people do. But that's really not the case. Meekness can be your strength.
Mary Morrissey, co-author of The 11 Forgotten Laws, tells a great story about Abraham Lincoln. At one of his speeches a woman tells him, "President Lincoln, you need to destroy your enemies." He turned to the woman and said, "Madame, when I make my enemies my friend, have I not destroyed my enemies?" Is that not hugely powerful? No one ever accused Abraham Lincoln of being weak.
Don't you get frustrated with our politics? I most certainly do. The Republicans are forever fighting against the Democrats and the Democrats are forever fighting the Republicans. Wouldn't it be cool if instead of fighting against each other they were working together toward something good? They could do so many wonderful things! All that wasted time and effort, not to mention money, tearing each other down could be utilized for fantastic things. Can you imagine how profoundly different our government would be if they were using the Law of Non-Resistance? The possibilities are beyond belief.
So consider this, instead of fighting against disease, lets promote health. Instead of fighting against darkness, let's simply turn on the light.
We must use our powers for good.
"Remove and dissolve every obstacle by blessing it and being willing to understand it. Mark it no longer as a stumbling block, but a stepping stone leading to your highest good." - Raymond Holliwell
