The goal of any internet marketer who is using article marketing as a main traffic generation technique is to write effective articles that will drive traffic to his website. But many people don't know how to write an effective article. Here are the three most important principles for writing successful articles that reach their goals.

An effective article is an article that reaches its objectives. Of course the writer's goal will vary; it can be to have the article re-published, re-tweeted, bookmarked, it can be to drive people to an opt-in page, or entice them to comment and discuss the topic of the article.

But generally speaking an article is effective when it gets read and people understand the message conveyed by the article and want to know more about the topic. Then they click on the link in the resource box and visit the website.

First, it is important to choose the right topic and the right angle for your article. Make sure you choose a topic that interest potential readers. Look on blogs, forums, social networks, and determine which are the exact topics that people in your niche like to read about and interact on. Then, choose the right angle. If the topic is controversial, be controversial in your article. If the topic is funny, make sure you are neither serious nor boring. If you want to write a how-to style article, make sure you give people solutions to their concerns by writing a really helpful article.

Second, if you want your article to be effective, make sure you deliver on the article title in the body. If you promise in the title to give people three tips, well don't just give them two in the article. If your title is about acne treatments, don't spend half of the article talking about acne causes. This is very important because people have chosen to read your article based on its title, so if you don't deliver on the title they will click away and your article will neither be effective nor drive traffic to your site.

Third, make it easy to read. This is very important if you want your article to be effective. Communication is about giving a message to a person, and this message should be clearly expressed so that people understand it. This is why when writing your article, you should not dilute the message, instead make sure you get to the point, then use simple language and don't make too complicated sentences. You can communicate your message very well by keeping it simple. Add a real life example whenever possible, use short stories if applicable, and avoid using technical language unless you are writing articles in a very specific and technical niche.

Of course, writing effective articles is an art that you will not master overnight. But by applying the three simple principles above you'll be on the right track to master article marketing.
