How on earth can exercising LESS help you get a flat stomach? Believe me, its true! The secret to how to get a flat stomach is not in how many crunches you do in the day.

I was exercising like crazy, buying home exercise equipment like it was going out of fashion, always ready to try "the latest ab machine". The final straw was when my husband threatened to divorce me if I spent money on yet another ab machine or supplement.

I was chatting to my friend Roy Carter, a very successful internet marketer who makes money on line effortlessly and guess what, he has a flat stomach. The best advice he gave me was "find someone who has what you want, find out how they got it and copy them". Could it be that simple to get a flat stomach? Apparently so.

I decided to interview some Personal Trainers, the really good ones, the ones that actually walk the talk, look great, have toned bodies and knew how to get a flat stomach. They agreed to let me in on one of their secrets and what's more, they even permitted me to share it with you....... EXERCISE LESS.

To get a flat stomach, you need to lose body fat all over, not just work out muscles in one area. Working out your abs only increases your muscle in your stomach, but unfortunately will not burn fat and will not get you those 6 pack abs that you desire.

I modified my diet and began to eat more wholegrains and less refined foods. I included cardio exercise with my strength programme. .My body fat lowered and my muscles really began to take shape. Now I really knew that I could get a flat stomach.

The starting point is really what you are eating. Rubbish in, rubbish out. Eat foods that offer a slow release of energy as this will allow you to shed belly fat and is a crucial step in learning how to get a flat stomach.

A combination of strength training and cardio exercise are very important for doing this. Cardio workouts burn calories and fat, while strength training will replace that belly fat with lean muscle. You can then really focus on your goal - get a flat stomach.

When you do any type of strength training, you need to give yourself at least two to three days of a resting period so that you repair your muscles and encourage new muscle growth. You will also need to challenge your body and increase your weights gradually. If you mind is getting bored, then your body and your muscles are getting bored.
