If you are looking for a quick and easy gift, sometimes one that you make yourself can be the best option. Because photos are such a personal item, they are often the perfect material for making gifts that will be cherished by the recipient. Photo gifts are also the perfect solution if you don't have a lot of money to spend. With minimal expense and just a little time, effort and creativity, you can quickly make a very nice gift. Here are a few photo gift ideas to help get you started.
Fast and Easy Scrapbooks
Although you can certainly spend a lot of money on elaborate scrapbook albums, a plain album often makes just as nice of a gift. If you have a lot of photos but not a big gift-giving budget, design a simple album that anyone would appreciate. Start by gathering a few photos that you know the other person would love. You can even make copies of some of the photos you have displayed in metal picture frames around your own home. This can be an especially good idea if the intended recipient has previously admired these photos when visiting your home. To make a quick album, cut several pieces of heavy cardstock or lightweight poster board. Each piece should be double the width of the intended size of your finished album. For example, to make an album with a finished size of 5 x 5 inches, you will want to cut 5 x 10 inch pieces of cardboard. If you cut six pieces of cardboard, you will end up with ten pages, plus a back and front cover. Of course, you'll be able to put pictures on both the front and back of the pages. Fold each piece of cardboard in half. Then, punch four evenly spaced holes in each page along the fold, making sure the holes are in the same position for each page. Tie the pages together by using two pieces of yarn or cord, using one piece in each set of two holes. You can then glue attractive paper on the outside of the book to form the cover. Then, glue squares of scrapbook paper to the front and back of each page. Place photos on each page, and you'll soon have an attractive and yet very inexpensive gift.
Framed Photo Collections
For the price of a few 5x7 picture frames, you can create a photo arrangement that your gift recipient can display on their wall or shelf. Start by selecting a few frames that you know they will love. Matching the frame to the style of their home decor can be an especially nice idea. Find a few photos that you know they will enjoy, making copies of them if necessary. Insert the photos in frames and you'll have a quick gift that will certainly be appreciated.
Photo Poster
If you have a few especially nice photos that you know your gift recipient will love, try enlarging them to form one or more large posters. Then, simply insert the photo enlargements in picture frames, and you'll have an instant gift.
You'll love these simple yet fun projects that will make wonderful gifts for all your friends and family to enjoy.
