Washing a comforter or duvet can be a difficult task because it is huge, heavy, and cumbersome, especially a king size duvet. Some also require special washing instructions. If you fail to follow these care instructions, your pricey duvet will get damaged and will go to waste. Moreover, you might need to go to the Laundromat because these big comforters may not fit in your regular washer at home. You have to sue a powerful, heavy duty washer which can only be found in Laundromats.

It is okay to clean the comforter itself but there is a way for you not to do it too often. You have to use a duvet cover. Here are some benefits of using duvet covers.

The main benefit of duvet covers is that it protects your comforter or duvet form dirt or stain. The main reason why you buy a duvet cover is because you do not want to wash your comforter all the time. It is easier to wash the cover than the duvet or comforter itself because it is lighter. It is also cheaper than the comforter. You will not feel as bad if something went wrong with the cover. Even though duvet covers can also be expensive, at least they are not as expensive as the comforter. You can easily replace the cover with a fresh new one to have a comfortable sleep.

You can also change the cover based on your bedroom's theme and color. For example, if you just had your bedroom renovated and you changed the theme or main colors, you can easily replace the cover of your comforter to make it more appropriate to your new theme. Duvet covers come in so many styles and designs. You can choose different ones that will work best in your bedroom design. You can easily redecorate your bed without having to replace your comforter which is more expensive.

There are also different fabrics used to make duvet covers. You can choose a fabric that will be perfect for the current season or the place where you live. For instance, a duvet cover made of cotton is perfect for warm areas because cotton is very comfortable. It 'breathes,' just like most natural fabrics. If you want a fabric that will keep you warm, cozy, and snug in winter months, you can buy a velvet cover. In really hot places like tropical countries, it is okay to use the cover by itself without the comforter to make it cooler. You can use it to cover the mattress.

They also come in different sizes. Determine the size of your comforter before buying a cover. This is to make sure that you will buy the perfect fit. It can be a twin, full or queen, or king sized comforter and cover.

Using covers for your comforter or duvet really gives you a lot of benefits. That is why you should get yourself several covers in different styles, fabrics, and designs for your varying bedroom needs.
