Is Your MLM Business Getting Low Priority?

Almost each day we find ourselves having to choose between doing things that are urgent and things that are important. All that seems urgent is not necessarily important. But everything that is important to us SHOULD be urgent. For instance, many people feel that cleaning their house everyday is an urgent matter, but is it really that important to keep your house extremely clean? Will it really matter several years from now if your house was spotless? Please don't get me wrong; I am not saying that you should not clean your house. But often times people do things out of habit rather than out of need. They will do something because that's what they do everyday, rather than doing it because it needs to be done.

We tend to attend to things that are urgent in our minds and give those things priority, and get those things done first without thinking whether or not those things are important in the big scheme of things. We then leave the important things for later, because we think there is no urgency to it. We think, well... I can follow up with my prospects tomorrow, it won't make any difference. Let me just take care of the laundry today, I don't want it to pile up. By thinking like this, you have just given your business a low priority.

Successful people understand this trap and learn to give the important things the urgency those things deserve. They identify the important things in their lives and give them urgency. They understand that if they don't give the important things priority, they will not move forward rapidly enough.

Let's take the example of an MLM Home Based Business entrepreneur. They have total flexibility in scheduling their work. Most of them start part-time. Now, succeeding in their MLM business may be most important to them. But what happens to many of them? They get caught in taking care of the seemingly urgent things everyday first. Then if they have some time left in the day, they will work their MLM business. Successful Network Marketers do it the other way around. They work their business first, and then if they have some time left, they will take care of these seemingly urgent things. In other words, they give their business top priority and give it urgency. Until a person does that, he/she will find that their day is spent doing things that don't really matter.

This doesn't mean that you ignore your relationship with your family and your relationship with god. But you need to create a balance where you are not spending your day doing things that don't really matter in the big scheme of things. Learn to recognize time-wasters, habits and expectations that are not productive. It is not necessary to clean your desk everyday or to vacuum your house everyday or check you email every 10 minutes, etc.

The important things in your life should always be an urgent matter!
