Grape seed oil has many great benefits, which have been used by man for many years. Because of the fact that so many grapes are grown in the world, most commonly for wine production, grape seed oil is both inexpensive and high quality. Wine makers spend immense amounts of time and care on their grapes, which has huge benefits for grape seed oil, since grape seed oil is the natural byproduct of wine making. The more care that a winemaker puts into the growing of the grapes, the more nutritious and healthy the seeds of the grapes are. This makes grape seed oil among the finest oils in the world.
Grape seed oil has many benefits, not only for cooking, but for skin and hair as well. Grape seed oil is very nutritious and its nutrients absorb into the skin and the hair readily. For this reason, many people prefer grape seed oil as their main oil. Unlike other oils, grape seed oil is light and absorbs quickly. Some oils, like castor oil, go on thick and can really only be used at night because they make the face and scalp shiny and oily for hours. But grape seed oil is much lighter and will absorb readily into the skin. For this reason, a lot people like to use a drop or two of grape seed oil on their face before applying their lotion. Grape seed oil is high in antioxidants, particularly the antioxidants proanthocyanidins which are more powerful than Vitamin E. When used in conjunction with a vitamin E lotion, you'll have a powerful antioxidant blend for the skin which can help overcome aging and skin damage.
Grape seed oil also absorbs nicely into the scalp, and can deliver nutrients to the skin where hair is grown. The scalp can often be a delicate place, subject to invasion from foreign attackers like microbes and fungus. Making sure the scalp stays moisturized and nutrient rich is a good way to help stave off many of bad things from taking hold. But most people who use grape seed oil use it for its cooking benefits. Grape seed oil is great to cook with because it is resistant to heat damage more than other oils. Not only that, but it's light and nutritious. Grape seed oil has a wide variety of vitamins and minerals in it, things that are sometimes difficult to find in other places. Again, it really depends on the kind of grape seed oil that you purchase. Just as there are different kinds of wines, there are also differences in grape seed oil. When I go to buy grape seed oil, especially for cooking, I try to get my oil from Europe, preferrably Italy or France, and I look for brands that use seeds that are left over from the winemaking process. That way, you're sure that the seeds have been taken good care of, fed a great amount of soil nutrients, and have been pressed to make an oil that's tryly nutritious and healthy.
