Recently I was asked if there were any fat burning vitamins out there that people could buy to aid them in weight loss. It's ironic because in reality the answer is that all of them are helpful for fat burning. Here's why. We all know that machines run better when they're properly taken care of. A car is the perfect example. A car runs best when taken for oil changes often, given regular tuneups, and run on the right kind of gasoline. The body is a machine, one which needs a very wide variety of vitamins and minerals in order to operate properly. When it runs properly and efficiently it's most easily able to burn fat. This is where your metabolism comes in. Bear with this explanation. I promise we'll get back to vitamins, minerals and fat burning.
We've all heard the word metabolism before and we all know that having a fast metabolism is one of the biggest factors for weight loss. But most of us don't really know why or what the metabolism really even is. The metabolism is defined as: all of the chemical reactions that take place in the body that are necessary for life. For the purposes of weight loss, lets call the metabolism: the total amount of energy your body needs to burn minute by minute in order for your body to stay alive. If you have a vitamin or mineral deficiency of some kind, one of the main symptoms is chronic fatigue. The overall metabolism slows down because you aren't giving your body all of the chemicals it needs in order to run properly. It forces you to run at a slower pace so that you can't burn through the minimal reserves of vitamins and minerals that you're feeding it. When this happens, you can bet that lots of weight gain is sure to follow. But more importantly, diseases, illness, and other conditions begin to take advantage of the situation and take over.
The best vitamins for weight loss are, in essence, all of them. When you consistently give your body all of the vital vitamins and minerals it needs, your body isn't afraid of running at peak efficiency, because it trusts that you'll continue to give it everything it needs. But, when you aren't getting enough vitamins and minerals, your metabolism slows and your body doesn't run at peak efficiency anymore in order to make sure it doesn't completely run out of vitamins and minerals. Make sense? In the next section, we'll talk about the very best way, really the only way, to get the fat burning vitamins, minerals, and nutrients your body needs.
The best and really only way to get all of the essential vitamins and minerals your body needs is to eat raw organic fruits and vegetables. There's four big reasons why.
1. First, as we grow older, our bodies produce less and less digestive enzymes, giving us less ability to absorb the nutrients we eat. 3. A third reason to eat raw organic fruits and vegetables is that they help naturally detoxify your body. Chances are, if you've spent any time eating the Standard American Diet (SAD) you'll have some toxins built up in your system. These also can cause the body to run sluggishly and inefficiently. Eating raw organic fruits and vegetables will help to clear out all the junk.
4. Fourth and finally, raw fruits and vegetables contain a lot of fiber, which can also aid in digestion. Plants naturally have a lot of indigestible matter in them. This is called fiber. When you eat lots of raw vegetables, the indigestible plant matter takes up space in your stomach, making you feel full, but your digestive tract can't digest it, and therefore it doesn't produce any calories. There are actually vegetables out there that are said to have "negative calories" because it takes more energy for the body to process them than what it gets back from the vegetable.
