Bipolar Borderline Personality Disorders is a group of different borderline disorders that share the common feature of mood instability. To have borderline personality disorder means that a person have a pervasive instability of moods which make it difficult to get along in relationships or with other people. It is often characterized by anger, depression and anxiety that could lead to self-mutilation, fear of abandonment and self-image problems.
This condition is often seen in women and in a good number of men as well. Borderline can start at an early age but is usually manifested fully later in life. People who have this condition are often in and out of relationships but are often afraid; too afraid to be abandoned. Once they are in a relationship they latch on immediately and never want to let go. They are said to be promiscuous or often engage in unsafe sex. They are stuck within a cycle of "love-hate" and always having the illusion of being "in-love" but often are the ones quick to abandon the relationship first. They often seek acceptance and nothing completes them until they feel wanted.
Bipolar Borderline Personality Disorders is a combination of manic-depressive moods and borderline personality disorder. It is not a rare case when you are already diagnosed with one or two of these disorders. Borderline Disorder is often characterized with manic-depressive episodes plus some or all of the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
It is often difficult to deal with people who have this type of personality disorder since they are also manipulative and aggressive. In America, there are about 1 in every 50 individuals diagnosed with Borderline personality disorders perhaps even more. The cause of Bipolar Borderline Personality Disorders is said to be unknown however, environment and genetic factors are said to play a major role in its development.
A great percentage of people with Borderline Disorders claimed to have been abused as a child. Abandoned or neglected by a caregiver or non-caregiver. Most cases point out to their vulnerability to environmental stresses earlier in life when they were helpless or unable to figure out what's happening to them. All these earlier events and factors are manifested towards their poor judgment as adults when it comes to choosing partners and even making simple decisions.
Bipolar Borderline Personality Disorders like other types of mental conditions often sprung up from depression, and or mania. And like depression, these disorders are treated with antidepressants and mood stabilizing drugs. People with this condition are also subjected to "talk therapies" or psychotherapy to help them analyze themselves emotionally. The treatment also includes individual therapy to build a trust relationship with the psychotherapist. This condition can recur or even worsen over time that's why proper management of prescription therapies and psychotherapy follow ups are important. Often times, people with borderline are treated aggressively with antipsychotic drugs to prevent them from hurting themselves which could eventually lead to suicide in the future.
