At What Age Should You Get Your Child A Storage Bedroom Set

A storage bedroom set is one of the best products to have in a child's bedroom. The fact is, children collect things. They often have a good amount of clothes, for each season. They also have toys, knick-knacks and all sorts of gear for school and sports. Whether it is video games or soccer shoes, these types of storage furniture can help to teach your child to be organized and functional.

When To Start

When your child is born, he or she may have a number of different items that need storage, such as towels, blankets and clothes. However, beyond this, they do not have many other items, in most cases, which require storage. As your child grows, he or she is sure to start building up a supply of items. By the time he or she is a toddler, he likely has a great deal of toys to play with. If you have a playroom, you may not need to upgrade to storage furniture yet, but it is coming.

Upgrade Your Child's Bed

Perhaps the best time to start considering children's storage beds is when you move them from their crib to a twin sized bed, or from a toddler bed to a twin sized bed. Twin beds have a great deal of opportunity for the parent. If you take the time at this point to purchase a quality bedroom set, it could stay with your child until they are 18 or even longer. When it comes time to upgrade to a twin bedroom set, look for those sets that offer drawers or other aspects of storage under the mattress. Kids storage beds often have between six and 12 draws located under the platform frame. These drawers are often spacious, making it very easy for you to use them for your child's gear.

- Use them to store schoolwork and supplies for easy access.

- In a small bedroom, skip the dresser and instead go for the storage bed to maximize space.

- Use the drawers for clothing and personal items.

- Some of the best platform storage beds for kids have cabinets where there is no drawer but open space when you open a door. This is a great place to store sports gear.

- Craft supplies, small toys and books can all be stored in your child's furniture in this way. Once in place, organize each drawer to include what you think it should. Then, label them or simply teach your child how to keep their room clean using this storage system. This is an easy way to teach your child to be orderly and organized.

When it is time to consider children's storage beds? The best time is now especially if you are considering how much additional room you need for your child's belongings. Purchasing kids storage beds is not difficult, nor expensive. However, you do want to take the time to find well-made products so that the bedroom sets last for years to come.
