Hunting turkeys is, perhaps, the favorite pastime of a lot of hunters. However, it is also a truly dangerous activity. In fact, it is more dangerous than the other kinds of hunting. The turkey hunting strategies that hunters use are really absurd as well. During the days of springs and falls, hunters participate in turkey hunting. They hide from everyone's view and they try their best to mimic the sounds of turkeys. All these while in the middle of a forest, surrounded by actual turkeys that return false calls and other turkey hunters who also try hard to sound like real turkeys.

Sometimes, particularly on busy days, hunters tend to experience confusion when telling apart false calls from genuine calls. So, if the calls of some hunters are truly convincing, the other hunters oftentimes mistake them for actual fowls; thus, mishaps happen. And because of these unfortunate happenings, hunters recommend several turkey hunting strategies to be followed. Well, first of all, the proper kinds of vests have to be worn. They are bright orange in color and must be worn over camouflage.

However, plenty of hunters find these vests hardly appealing. They claim that turkey hunting tactics like this take away the point of being in camouflage. Perhaps, they have a justifiable line of reasoning. But such vests have been very useful, and they have saved a lot of lives. And besides, most of the states compel the usage of such vests.

Nonetheless, if such turkey hunting strategies upset them, they might consider the other available option. So, if their states do not enforce the usage of the orange vests, they may choose to wear the combination of orange and camouflage instead. These are not as bright as the recommended vests but they also provide protection. However, hunters must still wear ballistic vests underneath their clothing to protect their stomachs and chests from stray bullets.

In addition, all turkey hunters must not wear red, blue, or white colored garments during hunts. These colors are very much associated with the body parts of turkeys, and might cause mishaps if worn. Then, other turkey hunting strategies are sticking to hen calls and being sure with shots. Hen calls are less likely to attract other hunters' attentions because gobblers are their main targets. And finally, a hunter must never aim a shot until he is really sure it is a turkey he is aiming at.
