A good friend of mine that worked with me in the wonderful world of busing tables got signed up by an apparent Amway big cheese and actually I think he was the real deal. I mean we visited his really nice house with the Cadillac sitting out front and every thing. As I recall he was at the point in his business where he had tables set up in the garage area for people to make there daily pick up of products and it was his full time gig. We were super excited to be in that position too some day soon. I joined Amway under my good friend Gabe and we went to work on every one and any one we could think of. We did our best for being two young punks with no business experience what so ever. Amway was huge back then and still is huge now, although now I guess its being called Quixtar but regardless a world know program with untold amounts of success stories I am sure. "Show the Plan" and we did. We would have meetings at Gabe's house a couple times a week with the eraser board and every thing. It was fun and we signed up some members too. Some how the whole college life just got in the way and we eventually let it slip. You know, looking back this company is really what started my whole career as a business minded person that was looking to get ahead in the world. Yea I was already enrolled into a business program in colledge but that was not really by choice. The electronics program I had started with was being droped by the university and Business just seemed like a simple enough change to make without changing schools or anything like that. Not to bore you with my entire life history but it really just occured to me how being involved with Amway created such a turning point in my life. From there I went all over looking for a way to make money. I wonder where I would be now if I had never given up. Fortunatley things worked out great so I guess I did alright. Amway or Quixtar or whatever you want to call it these days is or can be whatever you make it to be. The products are real and usable in every day life and I am sure there are still many new success stories being created for those that are willing to work hard and stay the course.
