If you listen to all the hype on the internet today then I would say that every home business owner who starts a business will be a millionaire in 72 hours. And what about those advertisements that say give me your money and we'll do it all for you? It makes it sound like starting a business is a walk in the park.

Well come on people why do you think that starting a home business is any different than working a job? Because that's what the network marketing company and all the prospering reps want you to believe. Maybe that's why 90% of the home business startups fail. Because their looking for the easy money and don't do their homework.

Now don't miss understand me, I own my own business and I want you to be just as successful as I am. But you have to know that starting a business and keeping it running is hard work. Well at least at first.

If you market right, get in with the right network marketing companies and invest your profits wisely you can have the life of Riley, but you have to pay your dues first, and don't let anyone tell you different. Now really have you ever talked to any entrepreneur who didn't have a hard luck story? I have to laugh sometimes it's like talking to my grandparents.

Well that sounded doom and gloom, but wait its not. Owning your own business can set you free in so many ways; financially, mentally and spiritually. With the right mental attitude you can create your own financial freedom, feel good about it and then give back to others.

So how do you know a good company from a bad company?

Here are 3 things to look for in a good company:

Longevity - the company should have a history. You might be an affiliate marketer for someone or a group of someone's, but make sure the product or service has been around.

Desirability - is the product or service in a high demand industry like health and fitness, travel or information. These are products and services that are easy to sell. And don't worry about the competition, you can specialize and competition is good for everyone.

Marketing and support system - now by this I don't mean do it all for you. I mean training, a community, and yes a marketing system. If you're new to the industry the worst thing that can happen is to pay your money and then be thrown to the wolfs. A good support team will make you and the team successful.

Get all this right and making money is easy.
