It is important to attract people to your website, but always keep in mind, that it is even more important to keep the visitors at your web site as long as possible.

So the idea is, to keep them interested and allow them to download free ebooks, sign-up for newsletters, use free online services, and much more. Here are seven easy to realize ideas to attract and keep targeted visitors to your website.

1. Give people a free subscription to your newsletter or e-zine. You surely have seen it on the Internet too and people are already used to get some free stuff at almost evry website. To stand alone and beat the competition please remember that it's important to give something extra with the free newsletter-subscription. You could offer a free gift like an ebook or some banner-advertising space when people subscribe.

2. Always provide your visitors with free content, for example articles. To get targeted visitors, keep your articles related to themes your website is about. Your content will be the more attractive to your visitors the more up-to-date it is. Don't only reprint the guru's articles, be original, write your own content and become an expert. You could also offer people the option to reprint the content with your link.

3. As already mentioned: Give your visitors a free ebook. You could include your own ad and your links in the ebook and allow other people to give it away for free. Right: consider to to give it away for free, it will spread around the internet like you never would believe, before you have seen it. If you don't want to take the time to write your own ebook, you could hire a ghostwriter or make some changes on some private label books or articles and sell them as yours. It's absolutely legal even if you don't rewrite them, but rewritten you will be original.

4. Offer a free directory to your visitors. The directory could be a sort of resource-box for your services or offers, stuffed with interesting ebooks, e-zines, web sites etc. If people find your directory to be a valuable resource they will visit it over and over and even link to it.

5. Let your visitors download some free software. It could be freeware, free shareware trial-offers, demo versions etc. If you created some simple software, include your ad inside and let other people give it away And look to the directory above: You could even turn a part of your site into a free software directory..

6. Offer some free online services like free consulting or search engine submitting. But please: the service or your utility should be really helpful to your visitors.

7. Create ayour own forum or online club and give your visitors a free membership to your. People like to be members of a commununity, so why not your forum oronline club. And for the members you could give away a free e-zine.

And here is one last extra hint: Keep your eyes open, when visiting other websites. You don't have to reinvent the wheel, but best is, to be creative, see a good idea and find a way to change it, till it perfectly fits your site and your themes.
