Why not be the one who controls the process of recording your own songs by starting your own home studio business ? Some have decided to go ahead and do it. Most people only think it over briefly, then drop it. Many quit as they have no idea of where to begin. The aspect of maybe requiring you to do a little work discourages others. Still others don't move ahead because they do not know enough to sort it out.
Let's see now, are those reasons reallly valid? Did they actually examine the positive side? Did we evaluate the possibilities for it? The reasons in favor of it? Before we let the negatives rule, the positives deserve a reasonable hearing. There are a few reasons why you need to examine setting up your own studio.
First, the cost of going into a professional studio is nerve racking and leads to performances that reflect just that. Sure, I understand your objection that you won't get as good a quality recording. Certainly that is a valid objection. However one should consider you can come very close in quality to the professional studio with just a few good elements. In addition, consider that with the money you spend on your recording in such a studio, you could afford to buy some crucial gear for yourself. LIke a good microphone.
Second, you can mix without having to translate your wishes to the mixing engineer. The chief reason for that is you can't easily articulate what you want. Plus you can experiment with your sounds - something that it's hard to do when the meter is running.
Third, you will soon learn the ins and outs of the whole process. As well as taking your own sweet time to do it!
Fourth, take as many takes as you can and then edit them to your liking without worrying about how long it takes.
And Fifth, accumulate some choice pieces of gear and grow your own business. As you progress you can start bringing in some clients of your own.
Once you have had an opportunity to go over the reasons, and consider them, you'll notice that a pretty good case can be made in favor of starting your own studio in the comfort of your own home.
Think about it. What if you really could try it out ?
Once you consider all the reasons and evaluate them, you will have to admit that a very compelling case can be made for considering how to record at home with just a computer, an interface and a decent microphone.
Just consider it. Maybe, just maybe, you actually, in all seriousness, should start your own home studio.
