If you are a big fan of literature like I am, you may have been hesitant about the e-books at first. I am a traditionalist when it comes to reading, and I resisted the e-books for quite a while. However, for my last birthday, I got an e-book reader as a gift, and since then, I have learned to love e-books. The most obvious advantage is that you are able to carry around quite a few books in a single device. I know when I go on long trips, I like to bring at least three or four books with me, and now I can just pack my e-book reader in my carry-on luggage and not have a lot of extra weight.

Let's say your mother lives across the country, and you just read a great book that she would absolutely love. Instead of sending her a copy of the actual book through the mail, which costs money in postage, you can simply send her a copy of the e-book in a digital format.

E-books are giving new authors the chance to reach out to different people that they might not have the opportunity to reach out to because they will be able to sell their e-books on the internet, which is convenient for them. If you are a book lover like me, you will be able to have access to a wide range of cheap e-books that you might not have been able to read otherwise, and that will definitely be beneficial if you love to read new fiction or non-fiction.

There are many different advantages when it comes to reading e-books. You have easy access to your books, and you are able to carry around a number of books with you at one time. You have access to more books that you normally would. Also, many e-book readers have other features on them, such as internet access or games that you can play, which make them all around entertaining devices to have with you, especially on long trips.
