I think that every guy has at one point or another found himself friends with a woman that he would much rather have as a girlfriend. Some guys even think that this is the best way to have an in with the woman, yet week after week, and month after month, they get nowhere with her. If you want to make a woman your girlfriend, then trying to be her friend is probably one of the worst choices that you can make.

Sure, there are a few occasions where this does work, but they are really not the usual circumstances.

What do you do if you already find yourself in the situation where you are friends with a woman that you would much rather have as your girlfriend?

1. Start to become a little more distant.

While it might feel good to be around her, the more often that you are, the deeper that line of friendship becomes. You have to realize that most women are not going to cross the line and end up trying to date one of their guy friends. If you want to switch it up, the first thing that you want to do is get some distance. You cannot keep clinging on to her if you want to build real attraction. You have to let go.

2. When you do come back around, start to flirt with her. Flirting with a woman is a simple way of building a little attraction with her and at least making it known that you find her attractive or that there is a rapport with her. Just don't try and be too passive with your flirting. Don't be afraid to make her blush. When your female friend starts to blush when you are with her, you know things are starting to change. This is the turning point for you and for your relationship with her.

3. Get some alone time with her. Assuming that you have done numbers one and two, then you want to make sure that you can get some alone time with her. And by this, I don't mean alone but still out in public. She should have no problem with being alone with you, and from here you can escalate things further.

While it can be quite a challenge to turn a friend into a girlfriend, it can be done. And the reward for doing this is more than worth it in the end.
