Dating Advice for Single Men- What NOT to Do On The First Date

Ah. The first date jitters. Both men and women can easily feel the uneasiness and nervousness often associated with going out on a first date. No matter how often you are out there in the thick of the dating scene, you can easily count on feeling at least some jitters as this is a perfectly natural reaction. When the date just happens to be with a woman that you find VERY appealing, those jitters can increase and escalate to the point that you find yourself sweating with anticipation.

Because of this, it can be easy to find yourself guilty of making some classic first date errors that can keep you from making the kind of lasting impression on a woman, the kind of impression that will linger in her thoughts.

Here are a few examples of what NOT to do on a first date:

1. Do NOT treat it like it were an interview for a job you were seeking.

While it may seem funny for me to say this, the truth is, that many men will kind of approach the date in the same style as they would a job interview. They get all dressed up, and focus on asking bland questions about where she works, her family, and other topics that do little in the way of creating attraction.

Instead, your main focus should be to create attraction with a woman, and make her laugh, and have a good time with you. I don't think there are too many women out there that leave a date thinking, WOW, he asked some really good questions. It's more like, boy, was that boring. And that's not what you want her to think.

2. Do NOT focus on using the right line or something like this.

This makes the date have an unnatural feel to it. Instead of trying to figure out the perfect line to use on a woman, just allow the conversation and the flirting to flow more organically. When you create this feeling, then the date seems to be more of a good connection and this will benefit you. The more put on your approach with a woman is, the more likely it will be that you come across like most other guys out there. And this will do little in the way of creating attraction with her.

3. Do NOT limit yourself to just the normal kind of first dates.

Make an impression on a woman right away by doing things a little bit differently. There are many places that you can take a woman on a date that do not fit the traditional mold, but they will make you come off in a much better light. And you will also get the added benefit of seeming to be unique. When you limit your choices to things like dinner and a movie, then you basically are doing very little to make an impression on a woman that will stand out in her mind. And, this is the whole point of the first date, so that you can get date number two and three and four.
