Creating website traffic to your website should be one of your major priorities if you really want to make money online. Traffic refers to people who visit your website when they do a keyword research with the keywords used on your website. Your website is like your store online where you exhibit the products you are selling. To sell your products, you must drive people to your website. The means through which you drive a steady stream of traffic to your site are what I am referring to as website traffic generators.

Website traffic generators enable you to create traffic to your website, which is very crucial to your internet business. Traffic is like gold and you can never be successful with your online business without it. The more traffic you drive to your website the more you increase your chances of making money online. The people who come to your site and from which you stand chances of getting potential customers are what is known as website traffic.

Generating website traffic demands much time and energy. It necessitates you to spend a lot of time and effort. You have to consistently work on your online business over some period of time to drive traffic to your website. This requires you to have self-discipline, motivation, good organizational skills and a positive attitude. It requires you to pay more attention to every small detail. This is why you should be careful with those scams who promise you to make quick money online. They never say the truth. The truth is that It takes time for you to generate enough website traffic and to make money.

Creating enough website traffic is a gradual process which entails getting your link to as many websites as you can. Additionally, you have to work too hard to have your site listed among the first results when one does a keyword research at Google or any other search engine, using your major website keywords. Your aim should always be to appear on the first page when people use your website keywords in the course of searching for information.

There are 3 main website traffic generators and these include mainly having an affiliate program, search engine optimization (SEO) and article marketing. Let me further explain how these three website traffic generators can create traffic to your website.

1. Having an affiliate program.

Having your own affiliate program is one of the best ways of creating hundreds or thousands of links to your site. When people join your affiliate program, they connect to your website and this in the long run drives the people who visit their websites to your site. Focus on building so many links on other websites to generate traffic to your site.

2. Article marketing.

Article marketing is a wonderful website traffic generator. When you write articles and distribute them online through online directories, you produce so many links to your website. When people read your articles and find them helpful, they pursue the link in your resource box to your website to read more information. Articles create free targeted traffic and play a major role in improving your website's ranking with the search engines. Article marketing is my primary link and website traffic generator.

3. Search engine optimization (SEO)

SEO is a term normally used to refer to the various processes or procedures through which you work to improve your website's visibility in the search engine result pages (SERPs). Search engines are websites that move around the internet looking for new webpages to index. When search engines move around the internet, they scan webpages on any website looking for specific keywords or keyword phrases. When visitors do a keyword search at any search engine like Google, Bing, Ask and Yahoo, the results they get are shown on various pages referred to as SERPs.

In order for your website to be ranked on the first page, which should be your main target, you have to optimize your website's pages. When people come searching for information and enter the keywords you used on your website, they are able to visit your site only when you are on the first page. Most people always stop at the first or second page and they get what they are looking for. If your website is placed deep inside thousands of pages, it can never get any traffic through search engines. Focus on search engine optimization to drive free targeted website traffic to your website.

Finally, I would like to remind you that if you want to thrive in your online business, make sure you spend your time and energy on link building and search engine optimization. Create links by having affiliate programs, writing articles and distributing them through online directories. Optimize your website pages and articles to drive free targeted traffic to your site. Focus on link building, article marketing and search engine optimization. Always think about the three website traffic generators to grow your business
