Manufacturers have two main options to choose from when they are considering wrapping the products with wrapping film bags: shrink bags and dome bags. By making use of both of these types of bags, manufacturers can be assured that the vast majority of the products that they produce are wrapped in a professional, cost effective and eye pleasing manner.
Shrink bags, also referred to as being stock bags, square bags, retail shrinkbags, PVC bags, side-seam free bags, promotional bags and multipack bags are possibly the easiest wrapping option available for manufacturers to use. All they are are stock bags that come in a range of standard stock sizes that a manufacturer uses by simply dropping a product into the appropriately sized bag and then shrinking it and sealing it shut. When activated by heat, the bags shrink by up to 40% and do not balloon since they have micro-perforated venting, which also protects it from splitting or bursting. Obviously, very little training, up front cost and time is needed to make use of a shrink bag packaging system.
Generally speaking, most bags suppliers carry stocks in sizes of 6x6 inches, 6x11 inches, 7x10 inches, 8x12 inches, 9x14 inches, and 12x16 inches. Many packaging supply companies are also able to supply customized sized and shaped bags if given enough time to do so.
The other main bag option, dome bags, is currently the strongest bag being used today being mostly made of traditional PVC and polyolefin films. Also, being made from these materials means that the bags are suitable for packaging food items, since they meet the Food and Drug Administration's specifications for having direct contact with food.
These bags, also known as gift basket bags, polyolefin bags, PVC bags, seamless shrinkbags, side-seam free bags, promotional bags, multipack bags and RPMA gift bags can either be completely clear or printed as specified by the manufacturer. One of the strongest benefits of going with these bags is that it takes very little time to get them since every packaging supplier worth its weight has ready stocks of various sizes of these very popular and easy to use wrapping bags. And, as with other wrapping options, if a packaging supplier does not have the right size of shrink bags in stock, they can normally custom make the correctly sized wrapping bags.
