Astrology - The Seven Creative Principles

In astrology the seven heavenly bodies, that is the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn, rule over the seven creative principles of life. As well as over the seven days of the week, each body weilding a separate influence. And the seven creative principles combining to command the destiny of every living creature on earth.

As well as the seven bodies just named, there are two others, Uranus and Neptune. These rule over the mental and spiritual things of earth. When one of these creative principles is separated from the others it leads to decay or death.

The first part of this combination of principles, or elements, is the natural physical body, of which we are composed. From the time of death this element gradually decays, and in due course returns to the earth "dust to dust".

The second part of the combination is the eternal body, the purpose of which is to record vitality and sensation. It is seated in a deep part of the brain, from which it communicates via the nervous system with all parts of the physical body.

The third part takes a leap of faith, and is where some people find difficulty. This is the intangible that we call "life". The non-physical force which permeates and energises every living thing on earth, and which is ended, as far as the individual is concerned, by death.

The fourth part is known as desire. It is seated also in the brain, and without it the physical body would die. It creates aspiration for love, wealth, fame, honour, power, knowledge, as well as envy, hate, malice, and deceit. In short, it is the psychic force in humans.

The fifth part is the mind, the intellect if you will, again seated in the brain, ruling everything else. The mind is king, controlling every impulse and every emotion. The body is only what the mind makes it.

I appreciate that for many people there is no real distinction between these "creative principles" bear in mind that this is just an explanation of some of the basic teachings of astrology, which go back thousands of years.

The sixth part is the soul, some may call it the conscience. We can feel it, recognise it, and act upon it, but it is for all intents and purposes indefinable. An individual may be clean living and honest, or a depraved liar. A conscience inclined to either would make its owner good or evil. In astrology it is a dual principle, leading to either peace and joy, or sorrow and misery.

The seventh, and highest, part is the spirit. this is a combination in itself, of universal light and creative power. This is all pervasive.

Thes are the seven principles that make up mankind, who tries to make himself master over the earth, and everything on and in it. Proper knowledge of himself and his power is required to enable him to make his life a continuous joyful and peaceful existence.

Astrology is said by those who practise it, to have the power to analyse and explain the cosmic forces of nature, and direct their operation to our own advantage.
