Attending workshops, seminars, boot camps and events live is one of the best and often fastest ways to add more knowledge, clients and partners to your business. And the common reasons I often hear from entrepreneurs, for not taking advantage of this business leverage strategy are:

- No money

- Can't invest in going

- Don't have time

- Don't know where to go

- Don't know whom to learn from

If any of these reasons are yours, I can tell you that you will not grow your business. Many business owners think they can grow in their own little corner of the world and that's all they need to get by. And that's true, if you have a fresh set of potential clients moving in and out of your area pretty regularly. But come on, how likely is that, really?

That's why the Internet has made reaching more prospects and clients easier. You gain greater visibility than you would have ever thought possible without relying on a seismic population shift.

However, even with leveraging the Internet as an online business strategy, you still need the offline approaches because this is where you get to meet potential joint venture partners, clients and learn more from the sharing of experiences with like-minded business people. Even the top Internet marketers come out from behind their computers and their "all nighters'" to attend events to share and learn from one another.

If you are using the excuses of no time, money, etc. then you need to use a strategy of having events "pay for itself." This is an advanced strategy for building your business. Why advanced? It requires courage to step out of your comfort zone and get out among like-minded entrepreneurs in a big way.

It requires thinking bigger about whom you are and the business to which you want to attract partners and clients. And this isn't always a place entrepreneurs want to be. In addition, when you're starting out, you may not be ready to fully focus on ROI (return on investment) and that's where you need to be to use this strategy.

When you decide to attend a workshop, event or seminar and want it to "pay for itself," you must do some homework in advance. Ask yourself:

- Will my ideal clients or partners be at this event?

- Is the workshop leader ahead of where I am in my business so that they can "pull" me forward?

- Will the workshop leader teach concepts that I can use and make money from immediately?

- How can I ensure that I connect with a partner, client or create an opportunity BEFORE I go to the event so that it pays for itself?

You must ask yourself these questions BEFORE you excitedly process your payment.

So if you have the courage to think bigger about growing your business start today to look at adding this high leverage strategy to your marketing plan within the next 60 days.

Use the four questions to help you narrow the list and select the one or two that give you the greatest return on your investment of time, money and energy.
