During this time of the year , Christmas spirit is all around spreading feelings of joy , happiness and warmth. Smiley cheerful faces are everywhere , families reunioned and differences resolved just to share these magical days and feel thankful for what they have.

Our children are the blessings that we are always thankful for and strive to put a smile on their faces during the holiday seasons and may spend hours in the toy store to find them the perfect Christmas gift. We never realized that a present isn't the Christmas essence and we need to teach our children the true meaning of sharing and self denial.

Christmas is a perfect time to teach our children some virtues that we affect their entire lives , build their social awareness of the community and make them effective contributing citizens. A child must realize how blessed for what he has and understand that he has to work hard to keep.

Encourage your children to share what they have with others by donating their old clothes and toys to the local orphanage or other less fortunate children that their parents can't afford to get them gifts for Christmas. Your child will grow to understand that there are other children out there who are unprivileged as he is and they need these old toys more than he does. You will be amazed of the effect of such an experience on your children personality and the person they become.

We should realize that our children are a reflection of ourselves. All the experiences they accumulate during their early ages are directly related to our own behavior. Parents set the model that shapes their children's personality so if we want our children to develop as a contributing part of the society then we have to start with ourselves.

Engage the Christmas spirit the whole year , Make charity giving a family mission that all members of the family contributes to its success. Turning charity to a habit isn't difficult if we understood the opportunities that we have to give to charity while going on in our course of life. Buying your household needs by using the charity credit cards , buy the products that offer part of their income to charity or a certain fund, send charity Christmas cards for family and friends during the holidays, buy your gifts and needs from online auction websites that provides low prices and donate part of their income to charity are just examples of what you can do to make a difference .No matter how the little the amount is , it can make a difference . One difference that you can never miss "A happy smile on my child face"
