Foods that cleanse your colon will help your body naturally remove any plaque build up that may be in your intestinal tract. It may sound absurd, but consider this;

Your blood flows constantly, 24 hours a day. Yet, many people will eventually get a build up of plaque in the arteries, causing obstructions which can lead to heart attack and death.

It is well known that certain foods can cause this. It is also clear to the medical and scientific profession that certain toxins created through stress are also a main factor in this calcium plaque build up.

Knowing this, it should be easy to see that a build up can also form in tubes that do not flow 24 hours a day - tubes like your intestines.

The intestinal tract, mainly the small intestines, can get a mucus plaque build up. Perhaps this is why eating too much of the wrong foods can cause you to gain weight. Instead of cleansing the colon, junk foods can be hard to digest and leave behind waste that doesn't always leave.

Foods that cleanse the colon are clean foods that are easy for your body to digest. It is easy to include these foods into your diet on a daily basis with only a few small changes.

The first change is to stop eating junk foods. Having an occasional fun food is fine, but eating junk foods on a daily basis can lead to not only weight gain, but adverse health issues.

Instead, use fresh whole fruits and vegetables in as many meals as you can. This will help your digestion, which will not contribute to waste build up. Stronger digestion also means a stronger metabolism to help your body eliminate any built up waste.

Start your day with fresh, whole fruits. Fruits are nature's cleanser. They have fiber to help clear internal waste, and plenty of fresh vitamin water for nutrition. The morning is the best time to eat fruits, since your this is your body's natural time to clear waste.

For your noon and evening meals, include as many raw vegetables as you like, the more the better. Keep in mind that five to seven servings of fruits and vegetables is optimal for good health.

If raw vegetables are too hard on your digestion, that means your body may be lacking enzymes. You can build these up by starting with only a small portion of raw vegetables and then adding more as time goes on.

Other foods that help cleanse your colon are whole grains. Choose from the more alkaline grains, which are easier to digest. These include quinoa, basmati rice and amaranth. Use these instead of products that contain white flour.

As for proteins, the less processed the better. It is a fact that the more processed meats are now linked to colon cancer. Try organic, fresh proteins such as fresh fish, organic chicken and free range organic eggs.

By eating foods that cleanse your colon in as many meals as you can, you can help your body's natural ability to cleanse and detoxify itself. Keep your body healthy and it will keep you happy for many years to come.
