In 1952, Dick Kelty started a small business named Kelty in his garage. From humble beginnings Dick started making bags and back packs and grew the Kelty company into a legendary outside gear company. One of the company's signature products is their sleeping-bags that are renowned for their durability and value.

Kelty sleeping bags are durable and available in great variety, whether or not you're preparing for a basic family backpacking vacation or an intense adventure through the wintry hills. Plan what you want your Kelty sleeping bag for before purchasing. It's helpful to consider things like material, weight, comfort, warmth and price..

Kelty sleeping bags fall under 1 of 3 categories: warm weather, 3-season and cold weather. The number near the name of each Kelty bag displays the temperature that each bag can stand up to while still keeping you comfy and warm. Here's an example; the Kelty Cosmic 20 will endure temperatures as low as 20F while keeping you warm and comfy.

Some of the most popular Kelty bags are highlighted below.

Callisto: The Callisto is a rectangular bag and comes in 0, 15, and 35 degree models.

Coromell: A high-quality semi-rectangular down bag that has a high level of coziness. Both 0 and 25 degree models are available for the Coromell line of sleeping bags. Also available is the Coromell CP, made from a synthetic material known as CloudLoft Pro.

Cosmic: Is the most popular Kelty sleeping bag line. You can choose to have yours filled with synthetic or down fill. The Cosmic comes in 0, 20, 35, and 50 degree models to accommodate virtually any outdoor endeavor.

Light Year Down: Is a mummy-shaped sleeping bag that has a variety of cool features. Covering the 0, 20 and 40 degree temperature ratings, the Light Year Down is a versatile line of sleeping bags. This line is designed for both sexes with models catering to each.

Mistral: This sleeping bag is designed to keep you warm on even the coldest of winter nights. Temperature ratings vary from 20 to 0 to -20 degrees. This is a synthetic bag (with CloudLoft).

Big Dipper: This is a "junior" bag, 3-season, synthetic fill, designed for a variety of outdoor adventures. 30 degrees is the only temperature rating for this line at the moment.

Eclipse: Comes in the shape of a rectangle and is easy to lug around because it is light weight. The Eclipse sleeping bag line comes in 30 and 35 degree models. Also comes in a double.

Galactic: There is a hood attached to this sleeping bag to keep your head warm if the temperature suddenly drops. This sleeping bag is available in 30 and 15 degree models, it comes with synthetic fill and it is rectangular in shape.

Little Flower & Little Tree: These are mummy shaped bags designed for kids. The Little Tree line is for boys and the Little Flower is naturally for girls. 20 degrees is the temperature rating for both of these sleeping bags. Synthetic fill.

Supernova: Is a comfy and large 3 person bag. It's shape is rectangular and it's fill is synthetic. Temperature rating is 30 degrees.

Satellite Double: This square sleeping bag is more of an air mattress than a sleeping bag and it fits two people. You won't believe it until you see it. This bag is good to 30 degrees.

Celestial: This sleeping bag is perfect for warmer summer nights because it is light weight. This sleeping bag has synthetic fill and is rectangular in shape. It's rated to 55 degrees.

Little Dipper: This is also a warm weather bag (great for summer), mummy shaped, and comes in a girl and boy color. It's rated to 40 degrees.

Kelty offers any sleeping bag that an outdoor adventurer could want. With many colors, sizes and designs every is happy. Plan your next outdoor adventure knowing that Kelty will provide a bag that fits perfectly with your plans, whether you're heading out solo or planning a fun family trip.
