Prevention is a good plan. They say that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you are looking for a way to put a preventative plan into action, think about incorporating juicing into your daily ritual. By becoming a vegetable juicer you will be adding a plethora of raw and vital enzymes, vitamins, and minerals that will nourish the body. So a great first step in a holistic health plan is to start drinking juice.

A Live Juice Equals A Live Body

Imagine if you were to get in a bathtub and, little by little, the temperature rises until it becomes so hot it is unbearable. Beyond that point you get burns, and beyond that…well, it's bad. The same is the case with all juices that are sold in grocery stores today. They are all pasteurized for safety, but the problem is that the process of heating up the juice destroys all the beneficial nutrients. With excessive heating, comes excessive damage. Unfortunately, a pasteurized juice is a dead juice, so it cannot heal your body. But if you use a vegetable juicer to make fresh juice at home, you can reap all the positive benefits of a live juice that will nourish your body.

Increase the Veggies

People are becoming more saavy to the fact that vegetables need to occupy a larger portion of their plate. The nice thing about adding juice into your health equation is that you get a recommended dose of vegetables just by drinking a glass. You never would be able to eat as many carrots and benefit as you could by drinking a glass of carrot juice. Not only that, but when we cook veggies, it tends to lessen their nutritional impact.

Juicing is Investing In Prevention

Becoming a vegetable juicer is a great investment. Good investments demand patience, but the patience pays off. If you buy a juice at the store; sure, you get a quick fix, but it is not a nourishing fix. Taking the time to juice fresh fruits and vegetables will take time, but it is a foundational investment in your health. This is prevention; setting strong health foundations by nutritionally powering up your body today in anticipation of the future. Defend yourself against disease now, by investing in a preventative plan.

Doing the Work

There are a variety of ways to get started in a new venture, but it always helps to have a laundry list to follow to get the ball rolling. Health and wealth mean work, so don't be scared of doing the work. Here are some pointers on starting your journey to juice:

* You need to get a juicer. Cheap juicers may work for you if you don't plan on juicing much, but other wise, invest more in quality. There are three styles of juicers: centrifugal, masticating, and triturating; they each process the juice and pulp in various ways. Remember, not all juicers are created equal.

* Carrot Juice is the best juice to start with. Not only does it taste good, but it is a super power of nutrition that is a foundation juice that you can build other juices into.

*Buy carrots in bulk. It's cheaper and more efficient when juicing

* Get some help preparing the carrots. Have a juice party or get your kids involved. Make sure you soak the carrots and peel if you don't want such an earthy taste in the juice.

* A lot of people make juice every day, but that is a lot of unnecessary work. Consider juicing once a week, keeping what you need in the fridge, and freeze the excess. This is an easier and more efficient way to juice.

Dust Off Your Creativity

Once you have carrot juice mastered and you are eager to stoke the creative fires, start adding in other fruits and vegetables to the mix. Get suggestions from friends that juice, look up recipes on the internet, or simply go on creative intuition when it comes to what kinds of fruits and vegetables to add to your base juice. Keep in mind, some juices are stronger than others. Beet, for example, has the highest percentage of sugar of any vegetable, so make it a small percentage of the juice. Mix fruit and vegetable or try to make your own version of V-8. You are only limited by your own creativity and the rainbow of fruits and vegetables available.

When you add a vegetable juicer to your home health arsenal, you will be making an investment in prevention; an investment that is both good offense and defense and against disease. Drinking your fruits and vegetables is a great investment in your vitality and endurance. Juicing is a vote for life.
