To get a car that depreciates more slowly, buy a sleek,convertible type rather than a hardtop. The driver is more impressive, the newer model their sports car is. You get better resale value when your sports car has automatic transmission. Cars that have been practically immune to the recession are high-end exotics. Cars that are less striking have been known to lose only 6 to 10% of their value after five years. Both men and women are becoming addicted to car racing, which use a lot of sports cars.
Owning a sports car may fit a person's lifestyle, but that doesn't mean that sports cars only have good news. Repair parts for sports cars are often hard to find and very expensive. When selling a sports car the investment will never be fully paid back. Quite often that expensive sports car is only a collector's item that doesn't even get driven. When they are driven, the gas is expensive. When a model is bought at a discount, its value decreases faster. Very often an exotic car that only a few can afford ends up being sold because the maintenance costs so much. Financially viable trends that are recurring tend to affect sports cars.
There are people who buy a house that is above their means to protect an image they want. People do the same thing when they buy a sports car that is really beyond their means, but it brings enjoyment to them. Many people are willing to sacrifice the costly price simply because of the prestige it brings them.
