What To Look For In An Intelligence Education Or Intelligence Degree Institution

Today there are more and more high-level educational institutions which have expanded their curriculum into the field of intelligence. Both traditional brick-and-mortar style universities as well as newer and more high-tech online institutions have shown a willingness to expand into intelligence education and are offering various types of intelligence degrees. If you're currently considering attending a school which offers some type of intelligence education program or intelligence degree, there are a myriad of factors to consider before choosing the school that's right for you. The most important thing though, is that whatever school you decide on, it must be the best fit for you.

Getting a higher education degree is a major life event; not only is it a massive time commitment, but it carries along with it a substantial financial price tag and will (hopefully) lead to a new career or advancement in your current career path. To ensure that all of these items are maximized to your personal goals and budget, here are a few factors to consider when choosing an institution for your intelligence education or intelligence degree:

Degree Programs Offered - If you are looking for a specialized degree in the intelligence field, then it is important to ensure that the school you attend has a curriculum and degree program that focuses specifically on what you're interested in learning.

Accreditation - Ensure that the school you're going to attend has a legitimate accreditation that will be recognized by employers and other universities.

Cost - Price should always be a factor when looking at higher education. However, most schools which offer intelligence programs are military friendly institutions and so your GI Bill could cover the cost, or at least most of it.

Convenience - If you're a kid just graduating from high school who doesn't have a job or family schedule to worry about, then this section isn't for you, and you're probably also not looking for an intelligence degree. For the rest of us, going back to school as a working adult can be challenging. Universities are aware of the time restraints of their students and often times have programs to aid with this struggle.

Additional University Associated Programs/Activities - Universities which offer intelligence programs will also have other associated programs to go along with them. Ask if they have an internship or any other programs which can help you get your foot in the door with experience to go along with your degree.

Career Mentoring Services - Breaking into the intelligence community can be a daunting task even with a degree from a reputable university. Luckily, several institutions out there have mentoring programs set up to assist students will finding a career after graduation. If the school is offering an intelligence degree then they already have experienced and "in-the-know" faculty, but only a select few of them have cultivated that into a specific program to assist students.

Following these simple steps is the key to ensuring that your experience with intelligence education will be a fruitful one. With proper research, a degree can be achieved for little or no money out of your pocket, working around your busy schedule and it can aid you in obtaining the career in intelligence that you've always dreamed of. Proceed wisely and cautiously and you will be successful.
