Tea is perhaps one of the oldest hot drinks known to mankind. From the ancient times in China to modern times, tea has always been the first choice of many people. Although coffee had a temporary boost in most western countries with chains like Starbucks, tea is making its' return, and it's stronger than ever in terms of consumption.

While having a glass of hot tea in a chilly afternoon is a very good idea by itself, the increase in tea consumption throughout the world cannot be attributed only to this fact. More and more people started to drink tea instead of other drinks or beverages mostly thanks to the results of a number of scientific studies that revealed the health benefits of tea. Providing protection against a vast array of diseases from cancer to heart disease and stroke, the leaves of this ancient plant are now considered a true gift for all humanity.

And with the advancements in the food and drink sector, tea producers also started to create different products for different tastes. While there are a lot of people around the world who wouldn't want any other flavor than the classic taste of green or black tea, loose leaf tea, flavored tea, blends and herbal infusions are also preferred by millions of people throughout the world. Creating a special tea for a person's individual taste is not an easy task, but the results can be very rewarding.

That is why a lot of cultures drink tea with many different flavors: some add flowers like jasmine (like it's done in the far east), some use mint (middle east) and some prefer to add a lot of different spices to create the perfect blend for their taste.

Going one step ahead from flavored tea, we find the herbal infusions which are not technically tea as they are prepared from leaves of other plants than the tea plant. Herbal infusions come with all sorts of flavors and are mostly consumed for their health benefits like calming effects and supporting the digestive system, etc.

So, no matter what is your personal taste and no matter what you expect from your hot drink, it is safe to say that there is a perfect kind of tea for anyone. You can sip it while enjoying a calm afternoon with your loved ones, or drink it as a natural medicine that helps with a lot of health conditions, the choice is yours.

If you would like to find out more about how to pick the best tea for your taste, you can visit our Loose Leaf Tea site and browse for different kinds of tea in one of the best tea shops in Toronto until you find the perfect blend.
