Taking some time to escape the humdrums of everyday life and unwind somewhere a little further from home can be a fantastic way of relieving stress and returning to work with a fresh, positive attitude. Many people look forward to taking long or extended trips abroad, saving up their collective stress over the year and then dissolving it whilst lounging next to a pool or visiting amazing attractions around the world. Often though, this option is just not convenient for many workers; many people run or have a heavy involvement in the running of a business, and must take shorter breaks in order to return to work in time.

A popular hobby among busy businesspeople and workers on a strict schedule is golf; the sport has proved to be an excellent means of taking a short break and unwinding at the same times. Requiring substantial time spent outdoors, this sport requires great weather conditions and a relaxing environment (it's no wonder that golfing breaks are so popular!). So with this in mind, let's take a look at how to ensure you know what to look for when sourcing a great golfing trip for beginners or seasoned pros!

Resort

When planning to take a golfing trip, consider your window of opportunity and how you can maximise your experience in the time you have; if you have only a weekend to travel, consider sourcing a local resort that meets your requirements. Alternatively, if you have time to travel a little further afield, then really try to find a resort that provides fantastic weather and service; golfing is truly a luxury so apply this to every aspect of the trip and enjoy yourself!

Many resorts can be combined with a casual trip, often these sunny golf resorts are close to a beach or city so it's entirely possible to travel out and soak up some of the local culture too.

Packing

Golfing is certainly one of the best ways to enjoy a hobby, spend time outdoors and escape work for a while, but it also demands you carry the right equipment and gear along with you. To plan a successful golf trip be sure you are properly prepared and have packed everything you need; from golf shoes to your preferred set of clubs.

Remember, golf or no golf, this is still a holiday and you need to pack everything you normally would for a trip away from home. Don't short change yourself by over-compensating with the equipment you take and under-packing essentials such as sun cream, appropriate clothes, foreign money and identification.

So there we are; a few quick tips to help you make the most of your golf break!
