Many people across the world have a natural interest and aptitude for writing, be it creative, informative, factual or otherwise. Blogging can be a fantastic hobby or full time job for avid writers of all types; there are thousands of websites on the internet just waiting to publish quality content from guest authors who are 'in the know' about their particular field. Having the ability to identify websites that are likely to accept guest posts on their blog is a valuable skill and can help to line up some quality locations for articles before you write them.

Learning how to provide content that webmasters would want to publish can certainly help you to develop your writing skills and ensure you will have gathered enough experience and professionalism to start your own blog.

So with that in mind, here are a few thoughts that could help you establish quality spots for guest blogs and ensure webmasters will like your content.

Firstly it's worth noting that webmasters are only interested in guest posts that are relevant to their niche; when you have decided on which topic you would like to write on, contact a website which is within the same industry or topic. A great way of establishing a guest blog spot is looking for a topic that the website has not covered before, and suggesting 3 possible titles for guest blogs you may write. For example, if you are looking to write a review of a new range of cheap golf clubs then work this around a few titles: "golfing on a budget", "money saving golf equipment" etc. This not only shows that you are an eager writer, but also puts the power in the webmasters hands. By giving them a choice of which article they want to publish, you take the possibility of an instant "no thanks" out of the equation.

Webmasters are certainly not interested in copied content; your post must be original and appealing to their readers. Research and confirm all statistical information and be sure it is as recent as possible, submitting a guest blog with out of date statistical information will not only lose your credibility as a writer but could cause the webmaster to remove your article. Write about what you enjoy and translate your enthusiasm into your blog post, the more enjoyable your post is, the more likely webmasters are to publish another of your posts again.

Do not publish your articles elsewhere before informing both webmasters that the content is no longer exclusive, this may breach their copyright policy and cause some serious damage to your online reputation. Be sure to check everything with webmasters before you give the articles away to anyone else. If you intend to add external links to the post then be sure to inform webmasters of your intentions beforehand. When you pitch an idea for a guest post, be sure to tell them your article will contain 'x amount' of links and which websites they will link to.
