There aren't too many places where you can take a vacation, greet nature and do something positive for your body and mind all at the same time but that's just what you get when you look at all the possibilities that come with New Forest Walks. The National Park here is so vast it offers 134 car parks so that you can get close to the particular walk that you're looking for without having to expend your energy just getting there.

There can be no mistake either that the park also offers lots to choose from relaxing walks to adventure activities for the young and old alike. Remember that if you're interested in a guided tour when you're there, the New Forest National Park employs guides who can inform you about the natural beauty or history of the location that you're enjoying so you can really get the best from your visit.

Anderwood For A Raised Barbecue

Anderwood is a great location that's been designed specifically for family fun. One of the features that attracts many visitors to this particular section of the New Forest is the ability to stop and enjoy a family barbecue. Officials here caution that although it's permissible to set up a raised barbecue on this walk, people should take care to avoid endangering the trees and other vegetation.

If you've got a slightly larger group but still feel that Anderwood is the right spot for you, this New Forest option has three permanent sites that you can rent that will easily feed up to 100 people.

Blackwater For Tall Trees

For those visitors that are concerned about the trees on our planet and would like to take at least part of their vacation enjoying and studying them, the Blackwater Arboretum holds some of the oldest and largest trees in the United Kingdom. There are other trees as well that line this beautiful walk and here is where you'll see a collection of Douglas firs that rivals anything that you'll be able to find elsewhere in the UK.

Open Spaces In The New Forest National Park As Well

It's worth noting that not all the spaces that you can find here are enclosed and there are a few opportunities for you and the family to enjoy a little of the wide open spaces. The Whitefield Moor and The Ober Water Trail is another fine example of the diversity that can be found here.

This idyllic heath land is a great place to let the children blow off a little steam and later on you can enjoy the two walks that are available in the area too.

Like the other attractions in the New Forest National Park, the walks that you can find here display the same interesting and diverse character as the rest of the locality make it an excellent place to visit on Englands south coast.

Author Dave Talbot: The New Forest National Park is one of the newest National Parks in the world and is the ideal location on the south coast to enjoy some relaxing execise on one of the numerous New Forest walks .
