The recent upheaval in several north African countries has helped to boost tourism on the Canary Islands this winter and spring as many holidaymakers have preferred to change their destination rather than risk venturing to a trouble spot. All of which is good news for Lanzarote property investors.

The islands that make up the Canarian archipelago have a long established reputation as the only genuine winter sun locations within Europe and Lanzarote is one of the more popular of the seven islands, with a well developed tourist infrastructure already in place. This increased activity is good news for those who own a holiday rental property on the island, as there has been greater demand for accommodation over the last few months creating a lot of bouyancy in the Lanzarote property market. As many visitors who have come here for the first time have discovered just what a lovely destination Lanzarote is. Leading to increased interest in Playa Blanca property, for instance, where there is a good supply of rental style properties available to buy.

Playa Blanca is the newest resort on the island and has really come into its own since the beginning of the twenty-first century. Up until then, it was a fairly small fishing village, with beautiful beaches just outside its eastern edge.

This is no longer the case though, as the resort has grown in popularity with holidaymakers, partly thanks to its wonderful coastal walkway that runs from the west to the east of the town. And the numerous good quality four and five star hotels that can be found here, with great guest facilities such as spas.

The beaches actually within the town have been improved with breakwaters to ensure enjoyable bathing conditions for small children and boast fine golden white sand in each. Whilst the beaches at Papagayo are regularly voted amongst the best to be found in the whole archipelago. All of which makes Playa Blanca Property very attractive

The heart of the resort is concentrated around a few pedestrian streets, which are packed with shops and restaurants. Those who enjoy shopping can also head to the marina to check out a variety of more boutique style shops and day trips. And Playa Blanca's southerly position also means it is the closest resort to the island's leading tourist attraction. The Timanfaya National Park with its concentration of dormant volcanoes is a popular day out, with plenty to interest both children and adults.
